The Quill of Gemination is an item used in the Thieves' Guild quest The Pursuit. It belongs to Maven Black-Briar and was lost by Mercer Frey's guard Vald.
Location
The Quill is located at the bottom of Lake Honrich, the lake next to Riften.
The Quill is in Vald's Strongbox, that has a leveled lock, located in a sunken rowboat a bit north of halfway between the large boat at Riften Fishery and the boat docked at Goldenglow Estate.
Deliver it to Maven, and Vald's debt is paid.

Notes
- The Quill has the ability to replicate any writing that the user is looking at, however, it is completely useless without a specific kind of ink.
- It is not usable by the player.
- 360 PS3 PC Even if you kill Vald, you can still do this quest.
