If the Dragonborn injures a member of the college, be it a teacher or student, or steals anything and someone catches them, they will get the quest, "Rejoining the College." At this point no-one will speak to the Dragonborn and they must speak to Tolfdir and pay the amount of money (250 Gold) he demands. Then they will be re-admitted into the college. This happens even after the Dragonborn has become Arch-Mage.

If an apprentice of the college dies while following the Dragonborn, they are held responsible and this quest is automatically added to the journal.

It is very similar to the Brotherhood quest, "Honor Thy Family."
