Journal

Ra'shadda, the Khajiiti shaman who summoned the monster, didn't leave the plantation. Ruvali speculates that he wanted to stay behind to watch the monster tear them apart.

Ruvali gave me Ra-shadda's idol. The Khajiit is the only one who might know how to deal with the monster. I must speak to him.

When you talk to Ruvali, she says that Ra-shadda asked for forgiveness from her. She says that he spoke of his dead wife and tortured people, but is unmoved by his story because she feels that "Khajiit are incapable of normal emotions." Ra-shadda must either pay for his crimes or genuinely mourn his wife.

Let Ra-shadda live:

Talk to Ulov downstairs and tell him to meet at the stables because Ra-shadda wants to use the totem on a godless altar. He claims the ritual will protect you while trying to kill the creature. Ruvali is unsure whether or not she believes Ra-shadda. Stop at the altar before the stables.

Get to the stables and  talk to Ruvali and find out that Ulov has been taken over by the creature. Use the idol on Ulov and kill him. Talk to Ruvali to complete the quest.
