Shezarr, also called the Missing Sibling[1] and the God of Man,[2] is the Cyrodilic interpretation of Lorkhan, who is the creator of Mundus and the creator and hero of Mankind. He is sometimes associated with the founding of the first Cyrodilic battlemages.[2] While initially revered as a deity by both the Imperials and Nords, the melding of Nordic and Aldmeri culture at around 1E 242 during the formation of the Alessian Empire resulted in what can be described as the "spirit behind all human undertaking." Despite obvious similarities to Shor, the Nordic version of Shezarr, this was accepted by the Nords.[1]

Even though he is still worshipped in small cults in Cyrodiil,[1] his importance suffered greatly when Akatosh began to be worshipped in the province. He is now mostly forgotten.[3] He is connected with the Shezarrine, a strong figure who may have been Pelinal Whitestrake.[4] Saint Alessia believed that "freedom" was just another name for Shezarr.[5]

History

Shezarr convinced the other Aedra to create Nirn and become mothers and fathers.[6] When the gods created the world, some were angry and the Elven gods led by Auri-El felt tricked by Shezarr while the Gods of Men and Beastfolk led by Akatosh, Kynareth and Lorkhan (Shezarr) were pleased and relished in their sacrifices which brought the beauty of Mundus. Shezarr is seen as a father deity of Mankind, since he created Humans from Wandering Ehlnofey in the Dawn Era before the War of Manifest Metaphors began.[3] Shezarr was said to have led the humans living in the Heartlands of Cyrodiil against the Ayleids before vanishing from the stage. With Shezarr gone, the Ayleids conquered Cyrodiil and enslaved its human population.[1]
