The Song of Return is a song that records Ysgramor's flight from Atmora to Skyrim. It is stated in Frontier, Conquest that Ysgramor was fleeing a civil war that had broken out in the continent.[1][2] They originally named the land "Mereth," after the Mer that inhabited it, but it later became known by its current name, Skyrim.[2]
