Speed is a primary attribute that affects the swiftness with which one moves. It is an important factor in determining one's rate of travel while walking, running, swimming, or levitating, although the magnitude of a levitation effect is the dominant component of levitation velocity. Speed also impacts the horizontal distance traveled when jumping, but not the vertical distance.

The following skills are governed by Speed. Their use contributes to the attribute multiplier at level-up:

CombatEdit

A high Speed attribute allows the Nerevarine to quickly close the gap when rushing towards opponents who use ranged attacks, such as Marksmen or Mages to force them into melee combat. Conversely, severely damaging an opponent's Speed attribute can be more effective than using spell effects such as Paralyze to maintain a distance between the Nerevarine and an opponent while engaged in lengthy bouts of ranged combat. Speed is also important when overwhelmed during combat and the need to flee arises.
