Swamp Rot was a disease that could be contracted in the swamps and marshes of Tamriel. It drained the willpower, strength, and agility of both mer and men^[1] before ultimately killing them. It was predominantly contracted in the swamps of Black Marsh^[2] and in High Rock around the city of Daggerfall.^[1]

Swamp Rot killed many acolytes of Mara who were based at the Temple of Mara in the town of Umpholo in Black Marsh within one month of their arrival.^[2]
