Is this canon?[]

I read the book and quite enjoyed it.

I'm just curious though, is this canon by Bethesda standards? I mean I doubt the events are mentioned in any of the books found in Skyrim (Maybe they are) but if it's approved by Bethesda maybe that's good enough. I mean in Skyrim they did canon the Red Mountain in Morrowind erupting destroying most of the country, which happened "because" of Umbriel, though whether they said that was the cause in-game I'm not sure.

In answer to your question ... officially, we are unsure. We had a discussion about it a while back on IRC. Some of the events that take place (such as that) are certainly mentioned in Skyrim, but there are a few discrepancies between events (can't think of any off the top of my head though). I think a good rule of thumb is yes they are canon, but not as canon as the games, if there are mistakes made (Clavicus Vile's shrine is on the other side of the Imperial City, for instance). It seems to me that Bethesda doesn't exactly want to admit it happened aside from subtle nods. I personally believe any official novelization is likely to be canon "Unless the original company denies it" which they didn't.

There was, perhaps, a few (possible) references in Skyrim, but... I'd personally deny it, since I read it... and as a college English major, it was... poorly written; as was the sequel, with a really deus-ex-machina feel to it. That said, it had a few amusing moments, but.... not much beyond that.

Appearance Template[]

There is no Appearance Template for Infernal City. I would make one but i don't know if you need it and i don't know how i should namend it. I just wanna say that its missing and that somebody eventually create this template. Mike alias the Checker (talk) 21:42, July 7, 2013 (UTC)

Title and Subtitle[]

I finally obtained a copy of both of the Keyes novels, and as I suspected, the title and subtitle of each of them is officially listed as The Infernal City: An Elder Scrolls Novel and Lord of Souls: An Elder Scrolls Novel, with An Elder Scrolls Novel being the subtitle not an overarching series or universe name like Star Wars or Star Trek.
