Soul Siphon & Staves Edit

Is there some research on whether the Soul Siphon perk actually recharges staves' charge? There seems only speculation on this topic, but various sources suggest that it doesn't. Can anyone confirm this? Zlorfik (talk) 09:53, December 1, 2016 (UTC)

Overly Specific HintsEdit

There are a couple of places in the levelling hints that refer to specific enchantments such as Fortify Sneak, Turn Undead, Banish Daedra and so on. As far as I can tell, experience depends only on the strength of the enchantment which depends only on the size of the soul gem. So, with the possible exceptions of the all-or-nothing Muffle and Waterbreathing, it shouldn't matter what the effect is, right? DaBarkspawn (talk) 05:18, February 11, 2018 (UTC)

If memory serves, yes - the type of enchantment does not directly affect experience gained. However, the reason those particular enchantments are often prioritized is due to the excessive value they impart, which will net the Dragonborn a significant net profit, allowing one to purchase more crafting materials (if available), including soul gems ...there-by accelerating the leveling process. Okay, that agrees with my memory. Since we aren't able to compute precisely the values ahead of time and it depends on external factors like Smithing and Speech skills, I think factoring out the specifics from the hints and writing a single hint about this is sufficient. Otherwise, in some sense, all methods of making money are a leveling "tip" for enchanting. DaBarkspawn (talk) 16:59, February 11, 2018 (UTC)
