Cost bug Edit

Anyone else have this bug where you do not lose money for buying any of the houses and furniture? The first house I bought was Honeyside in Riften, after I bought that house and all furniture, all other houses in the game were free of charge for me. The dialog states the amount of money needed got removed from my inventory. But in fact, it is still there. ~ Flightmare (talk) 18:51, December 7, 2011 (UTC)

I haven't experienced that bug, but there is one for Hjerim in Windhelm, in which you will only be charged the amount of gold you have in your inventory, providing you have less than its retail price of 12000 septims. ~ Domino Volante (talk) 20:59, December 9, 2011 (UTC)

Weapon Rack and Plaques Edit

I read this on a gamespot forum (post by Sampoelala) and it fixed my glitchy weapon racks and plaques in the Windhelm house - Hjerim. I saved before buying the house. Quit the game, went back the xbox dashboard and restarted. Then started back up, loaded the save and bought the house and decorated as normal. All the displays were fixed and accessible.

Whoever contributed this, you're supposed to sign your posts with four tildes. ~ Domino Volante (talk) 20:59, December 9, 2011 (UTC)

Editing this Page Edit

When editing this page as any other on Wikipedia or Wikia, please make the effort to double check for any spelling, grammatical or general errors in your scribe. It's called professionalism and I'd hate to be the Hitler of the website, but it's not a hard thing to do. Furthermore, please ensure that when contributing additional information, you have a credible source or background experience (i.e. when contributing a bug, please specify what console you experienced it on, and do some research to ensure you're not the only one who experienced it. If you're the only person experiencing the bug, it might be a good idea to make this known when sharing the information.) In addition, let's refrain from reiterating the same information in different parts of the page. For example, there's already a bug listed allowing you to buy Hjerim for whatever amount of gold you have on your person (providing it's less than the retail price of 12000 septims) yet two other contributors felt the need to make sidenotes under the chart when said information was already made clear. The adendum made in Hjerim's chart information was a good idea, so that would be an ideal template to follow when highlighting certain pieces of information. Otherwise, the page just looks tacky and unprofessional. ~ Domino Volante (talk) 21:00, December 9, 2011 (UTC)

Shouldn't this talk above be taken else where? What exactly does this have anything to do with Houses...? also the poster point of make sure info in in the right area and grammatical correct....isn't it counter productive to post your opinons on the Housing page....who will look at it besides people that want to know more about houses in skyrim

Free houses Edit

Can spouses move into the free houses and shacks? Bioniclepluslotr</span> 16:29, April 6, 2012 (UTC)

No, they cannot move into areas which you are allowed to call 'home' for free. For example, your spouse cannot move into The Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary or the Dawnstar Sanctuary if you are a member of The Dark Brotherhood. You can, however, move into your spouses house if it has one, look at the list of spouses that have houses on the wiki. Otherwise, you have to buy your own house. Cheapest is in Whiterun, for 5000 gold. Hope I helped.

Shop SelectionEdit

Solitude itself offers excellent amenities, including the widest selection of shopkeepers in the game.

This seems far-fetched. Solitude is pretty mediocre in terms of shop selection, almost as bad as Markrath. Whiterun has 4 weapon/armour merchants (Warmaidens counting as two), Riften and Windhelm both have 3 general purpose shops, not including the Thieves Guild merchants.

Question on houses in General : Solitude is the dirtiest house I have ever seen or roleplay/adventured in and the worst for my house carl. Is there going to be an update where the floors are washed and the cobwebs taken down and the room where the house carl is to sleep with a real bedroom up do? I have shown the house to a few friends who have all stated that Nords must be the dirtiest group of people if they think that house is clean in any sense of the word and yet it cost the most! Markarth too has cobwebs so what is up with this or are we going to be able to clean our houses up in an add on or perhaps a maid? Also it would be nice if they would refresh the herbs in all the houses, give us a garden area in Whiterun behind the house and the side of the house. Get the hoes tagged so they can be picked up. No, I am not a clean freak, yes I am a women but even in my fantasy world my houses are clean.

This also go for the shops as well, Markarth Hags and General Store need a serious cleaning. All this hard work for us to have a believable roleplay/adventure game. Then why the cobwebs and filth? I wouldn't buy any supplies from either place, especailly with cobwebs around the outside of the door and all over inside, would you?

I can only hope the programmers see this, I would gladly pay for the places to be cleaned up and while they are at it if they could get the brownware plates, cups, jugs etc fixed so they can be set up that would be great!

Weapon Plaque/Rack Glitch Edit

"Racks, plaques, and display cases may all lose their ability to be activated. One known temporary solution is to punch the bugged piece of furniture until the option to 'activate' reappears."

This doesn't always work. I spent an entire in-game day having a WWE Smackdown with my weapon rack and it still won't work. 165.139.138.29 18:36, October 15, 2012 (UTC)
