Spelling[]

'Aspiring to be more like mer...'
Is this correct? I don't recall a race from Elder Scrolls called mer.

'Mer' refers to elves, as in Altmer referring to high elves. And you do have a right to correct spelling errors where you see it :D . As for the subject of Imga, I don't recall as to what it refers to, so I'll remain silent on that. --TheSpectator 10:29, 5 March 2006 (CST)
Ahh, the information for this is from here. --TheSpectator 10:31, 5 March 2006 (CST)

They are infact, a race made refrence to in many books in previus games. They have yet to be featured as a playble race or be shown image-wise.

Curiosity - Ape vs Monkey?[]

I had been considering removing the word 'monkey' from the Imga page because it irked my inner biologist. Monkeys and apes are classified in totally different Families. Imga are always described as Great Apes - Except for The Red Kitchen Reader.

I was going to write it off as "Someone just accidentally said monkey instead of ape and now because it's in the game it's canon," but I read the darn thing a couple more times. And now I'm conflicted. Because some Great Apes climb trees (Orangutans), some don't (Gorillas), but monkeys definitely do climb trees. And the way Simocles Quo phrases it, that could work with either apelike or monkeylike style.

What's the whole point of all of this needless analysis? Well, I've got two options in mind.

  1. The Imga are apelike, period. Simocles Quo just used a wrong phrase in passing. He's an epicure, not an English major.
  2. More interesting option. There are ape Imga and monkey Imga. I picture monkey Imga kinda like the Riekling version of the Great Ape Imga, imperfectly imitating those who imperfectly imitate the Mer.

Hey, it's an idea, and one more way to flesh out the Valenwood fauna.
