Strategies[]
- Karstaag is relatively easy to kill with a high powered weapon and at least one follower. One method is to use the conjuration spell Arniel's Shade, if available. Arniel's Shade is invincible, costs zero magicka, and lasts for 60 seconds. While Karstaag is distracted fighting Arniel's Shade, he can be killed with a bow or other ranged attack.
- Of course, If you are a coward or a noob, this last tactic may suit you well. By other side, If you rather choose the epic way, just unleash your power in a fair fight against Karstaag. I promess you that will be EPIC, If you beat him face to face in Master or Legendary. Instead of a pathetic fight, you will have a good damn remember of one of the hardest and most rewarding battles in TES V.
Try to use Aspect of Dragon shout + Alteration's armor spells + A non over-powered weapon enchanted with Fire + Equipment and elixirs for Frost damage Resistence + Elemental Fury Shout + Frost Atronach. It's amazing seeing how much legendary this battle will turn If even come some Rieklings to help you. Is simply amazing. Is hard but it's worth the effort.

On legendary, this guy gave me harder time than the Ebony Warrior, cause he hits so hard and sends you flying and leaves you wide open for attack. He will kill any player in 3 to 4 hits. Best way to take him down is with sword in the right, and restoration in the left (if you are a man). I don't take pride in the coward ways. Ray Dhimitri LilRay988

Revised[]
The thing is, I foolishly bought Skyrim on the PS3, unaware of the future lag issues. By the time I fought Karstaag my file size was 16 MB. Everytime I died, I would have a 5 minute loading screen. I had to go the coward's way.

Strongest enemy in the game?[]
- I summoned karstaag when fighting the ebony warrior to see who was strongest, I did this on legendary and after 5 fights karstaag had killed the warrior every single time; does this make him the strongest NPC in the game with the exception of the highest level Alduin? Also can anyone else confirm that he's stronger than the warrior, I've seen a few youtube vids confirming it but it would be nice to see someone else got the same :L TheJ00baby (talk) 15:17, May 4, 2013 (UTC)
I'm curious if the aetheral crown would exibite standing stone-like quality due to call script duplication and modification of the standing stone algorythm
