Another possibility for more "Philter of the Phantom" potions:[]
I've successfully used my sneak skill, which is at 100, combined with my illusion skill, also 100, to sneak up to the faux spectre and take his journal without killing him. And he remains alive even after completion of the quest. In theory, I could pickpocket the philters from him and his inventory should regenerate once every 48 hours or so, correct? If he catches you, you have to leave the barrow and return in order to pickpocket him again. So, there are multiple ways to continually get these potions.
