...so they're useless? Only good for selling off? Tyrasis (talk) 08:40, November 28, 2011 (UTC)

Useless besides selling or is there a way to make them whole?

You can try using the Atronach Forge.

I've mainly been finding soul gem fragments while mining various ore veins of any type. In a google search today, I've found speculation on it's use, like the possibility of an NPC fusing several fragments together into a new soul gem. Often, that NPC was called Bolen, in Winterhold/Winterrun/Windhelm. There is no confirmations on that NPC or his service, though. 99.100.207.43 09:05, December 10, 2011 (UTC)

It says there are only six pieces, but I've found 18. 67.190.96.135 05:34, December 16, 2011 (UTC)

This page was a mess. I completely removed the part about reforging soul gems at Dawnstar; I've seen nothing to indicate that's possible either in the game or looking through the Prima guide. I moved the stub tag to the bottom of the page where it belongs. Furthermore, I edited the speculation that was recently added. I don't know if it's true (I've never been one to waste Grand Soul Gems), and I removed the patently inaccurate section (soul gems never go back to your inventory as empty after being used). I'll see if I can confirm the gem fracturing at some point, but I don't recall seeing it mentioned in the guide. Personally, I think they're just decoration/trash like wooden plates and flagons. As far as I'm concerned these are decorations/ornaments for your homes.  The gold for selling isn't even worth the trouble.  Since it falls under the misc category and not ingredients I see no purpose for these.  I have some myself and I'm going to store it in one of the various sacks in my home until I find a nice spot for it next to an Arcane Enchanter or on a bookshelf.  It is not used for any known quests.  They are pure flavor items.Archmage Darium (talk) 18:24, March 24, 2013 (UTC)Archmage Darium
