Alftand Entrance? Edit

Is Alftand the only way to get here or can you find it on the mountain for the Discerning the Transmundane quest. For all the talk on the quest there is nothing for how crazy big the area you go through is so a shortcut would be welcome Tbone11 ^(talk) 23:14, December 5, 2011 (UTC)

Recovering Elder Scroll? Edit

So I've been through the glacier tunnels and Alftand, I've used the Great Lift at Alftand.. So I make my way to the Tower Of Mzark and its not come up as "Tower of Mzark discovered" and I can't get in? Does this mean I havent completed part of the quest cos I'm just going in circles now.. Any help would be appreciated

Skipping Blackreach altogetherEdit

This trick was mentioned on the forums related to 'Discerning the Transmundane', but I haven't tested it yet. You can supposedly skip entering Alftand and Blackreach altogether by travelling to the Tower of Mzark from Dawnstar and using the glitch with platters to walk through walls. You can walk through the gate, open it, and head down to the oculory. Can anyone confirm this?
