Temple Laws are the laws of the Tribunal Temple. These laws are enforced by the Order of the Watch, Order of Doctrine and Ordination, Order of Inquisition and the Order of War.[1]

Laws and punishments[]

Ordinator

An Ordinator, tasked with upholding Temple Law.

  • People who are not part of the Ordinators are not allowed to wear the Ordinator Masks and Ordinator Armor.[2][3]
    • If Dunmer are caught wearing the helmet, they are subject to a swift and merciless sanction. If non-Dunmer are caught wearing the helmet, they are killed on sight.[2][3]
  • People are not allowed to worship the Nine Divines, Hist, or perform rituals to other non-Dunmer gods in Vivec City.[4]
    • Any citizen who takes part in these activities is jailed and subjected to reeducation. Any non-citizens who takes part in these activities are banished or executed, depending on the severity of the infraction and the judgment of the attending Ordinator.[4]
  • Certain creatures are banned from entering Vivec City, this includes many milk-producing animals.[5]
  • Meat must be inspected in Vivec City by a Deputy Curate of Triune Permissions.[5]
    • Refusal to have meat inspected will result in forfeiture of any Writs of Divine Sanction, fines, and possible reeducation.[5]
  • Bardic songs must be checked by the Temple before they can be played.[6]
    • Refusal to show these works for inspection results in fines and possible reeducation.[6]
  • Vandalizing Temple propety is not allowed.[7]
    • Vandalizing results in a penalty of death, Rites of Forgetting and disposal of remains in the Pyres of Purification.[7]
