Walkthrough[]

On the docks of Murcien's Hamlet, you will find a man named Squire Theo Rocque. He will tell you that he and his liege Sir Etienne Hu were sent here to protect the village, but that his liege has since fallen ill. He will ask for your help in fighting off the Reachmen here. The moment you are done talking, the village elder, Medya Zurric, will show up and tell Theo that Sir Etienne is being taken care of and will soon rest easily.

Talk to Theo again and he will tell you what happened here; he and his soldiers came to the defense of the villagers, but they were slaughtered and the Reachmen managed to take over the town. He will then head off to go check on Sir Etienne, telling you to hold the line. Check the fortifications on both sides of the docks. On the eastern side, you will notice that the fortifications are on fire; grab a bucket of water and put it out. On the west side, you will be attacked by several waves of Reachmen, so you will have to fend these off.

Once the fortifications on both sides have been checked, head to the north side of town, to Medya Zurric's home. You will have to fight your way through a horde of Reachmen to get there. Inside, you will find Theo by the side of Sir Etienne's body. Sir Etienne seems to have been murdered with his own weapon. Theo will ask you to look around the house to see if there are any clues regarding who killed the man. Examine the body, the scene at the dining table, the wash basket on the other side of the room and the book lying by the bookshelf. You will find that Sir Etienne's wounds had been tended to, that he was dining with three people here and that someone here was reading a book containing Medya Zurric's family history. The book on her family history mentions that she survived the Black Drake's Invasion and that she had a son.

"<Blood is scattered in tiny droplets all over the surfaces. There are three bowls near the table. It appears as though Sir Etienne had his broken leg propped on the extra chair on his side of the table.>"

"<The basin's interior is damp, and its edges are smudged with fresh blood stains.>"

Take this information to Theo and he will note that it seems likely that Medya is either another victim or will know about the culprit. She is not here though; her apprentice Rolbert Foucher is down by the docks and may be able to supply more information. Speak with him there and he will tell you that Medya did indeed live through the Black Drake's Invasion, but that he has never heard of her having a son. He will also tell you that since the invasion, Medya has been something of a leader to the village, and that the reachmen have not raided here even though they have raided in other places. He will suggest looking for Medya in the homes; she might be treating people there.

In the abandoned house in the west of town, you will find a note that mentions Medya telling someone that the Reachmen would be coming. It will mention her coming down from the river covered in blood. Head to the river and you will find an altar to Hircine there.

"<Scattered around this grisly totem are Hagraven feathers and spears of blood, both new and old.>"

Take this information back to Theo at Medya's house; when you approach the house, you will hear Theo's voice saying Medya's here. Head inside and a spell will be put on Theo, making him fall to the ground. Medya's son Labhraidh is here and is hostile; kill him and Theo will recover. Theo will accuse Medya of having killed Sir Etienne; speak with him and he will ask you whether Medya should be killed on the spot or whether she should get a trial. Whichever option you choose will end the quest.
