Administrators
Edit
Hello, Elder Scrolls community!
I noticed today that the founding administrator has not been contributing to the wiki, but that there are several active users. Administrators are just like other users, except they have a few more tools for dealing with spam, vandalism, and troublemakers and for editing the wiki interface -- see Wikia:Help:User access levels if you need more information.
If you would like an active user or two to be granted administrator rights, please discuss among yourselves who should gain them, and how. You can simply decide by discussion, or ask for nominations and votes -- whatever you think would work best for your community.
When decided, please send me (or any other Community Team member) a link to the discussion or vote, and we'll be happy to grant the appropriate rights.
Thank you for your hard work!

Quests
Edit
I don't think this wiki is active anymore, but I think instead of having an article for each little task you get in any of the Elder Scrolls games, there should be a section of pages for quests only stating the game the quest is in and a walkthrough of the quest.
Nomination
Edit
Hello elderscrolls wikia,
I would like to ask anyone if they have noticed KickAssJedi actively working on this site recently. He is the sites only administrator, and is therefore the only one able to delete and protect pages, and block vandals. His being inactive is not good for the site in general, and I would recommend we find a new administrator. The administrator page is the place where users may nominate themselves, and vote on other nominations. Thanks all. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 07:43, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
WikiScrolls
Edit
I am going to take WikiScrolls back from WikiCities. Jhjnju 01:44, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
- No, you won't, Jhjnju, or should I call you Dagoth Ur, Mad God? --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 19:58, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Blocking policy
Edit
After having blocks ranging from a few days to 100 years, I think it's time we came up with a solid policy on blocking. My proposal is the following:
- For minor insults at a user: A warning
- Repeated minor insults at a user: 1 day block
- Repeated minor insults at a user after the first block: 1 week block
- Repeated minor insults at a user after first and second blocks: one month block
- Repeated minor insults at a user after the first, second and third blocks: Indefinite block
- Serious threats at a user: One month block
- Repeated serioust threats at a user: Indefinite block
- Minor vandalism: Warning
- Repeated minor vandalism: One month block
- Repeated minor vandalism after first block: Indefinite block
- Major vandalism: One month block
- Repeated major vandalism: Indefinite block
There are probably a few cases which I haven't covered, but those are probably the most common ones. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 18:28, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 18:58, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
Naming Policy
Edit
I would hereby like to initiate a discussion about the naming policy (particularly for characters). For example, for some of them (this mainly relates to Lore characters, but not always). Probably the best way of describing what im talking about is the following two characters: Morgiah of Firsthold and Helseth Hlaalu. These two are actually brother and sister, What I am suggesting is a "streamlining" of naming of characters. Do we want to have characters with the town that they prevailed from where possible, or the first/last names only? (Heck, do we even want to have them with there titles in front, i.e. Emperor Uriel Septim, King Wulfharth, etc.? The floor's open. Timeoin 04:52, April 12, 2011 (UTC)
- In my opinion, it's best to keep page titles as short as possible (just so we don't have that many links that point to redirects) and than post the full title at the begging of the article. --Anon
talk14:35, April 12, 2011 (UTC)- Okay, This has been completed. (At least for now). Further revisions may be done in the future, but for NOW at least, it has been fixed :) Timeoin•Say G'Day•View my work•View my Sandbox 22:25, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
Wiki Merge/Migration:
Edit
There has been a bit of talk recently about our wiki combining with that of the Skyrim wiki. This has now reached the point where this is going to be taking place this week (confirmed by Ausir. I am still not 100% on the details, BUUUT ... either way, there will be a need to make some changes to the wiki. This topic, therefore, is about any migration issues that are likely to be faced. For instance:
- Duplicate Pages: There are two pages, for, say First Era
- {{FutureProduct}} This template will need to be added for most of the Skyrim pages (since they talk about the upcoming game)
- Switch over the Wiki "design" - so that talk page comments are displayed like "blog comments" (per Skyrim Wiki - reasons already discussed on Ausir's page)
- Link Corrections. A few of the pages (such as the main page) - contain links to the Skyrim page - the same is also true for a few of the Skyrim pages. If they are moving to the same domain name, then these links will need to be corrected
- Redesign the Main Page and the Wiki Title to reflect the focus upon the Skyrim game. (Will need to be a project worked on with multiple people - too massive to do otherwise)
- News Feed will need to be revamped/archived, whatever
- Increased watch on the content - before the merge, there are only 3 or 4 regular editors on here. With the influx of regular contributors from the active Skyrim community (assuming that they are migrating over here) - it will be important to watch for vandalism via the recent changes, as it will be easier to miss it. (99% of the users are good contributors, so this shouldnt be too much of a problem) - Still - its something that should be mindful of, especially as the game comes closer and closer, and we get page-blankers.'
If anyone can think of any more, please add them here. These are by no means the be all and end all. They're just some things that I think will need to sorted during the migration process. Timeoin•Say G'Day•View my work•See current projects 22:46, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
- Another one that I just thought of: The Administration of the dual-wiki. If Skyrim migrates over here, ask Lordsunflash and/orKacj321 if they would like to be Administrators as well, since they were doing so over at Skyrim Wikia? (If this is not done automatically, which it may be?) Timeoin•Say G'Day•View my work•See current projects 22:51, April 24, 2011 (UTC)
As for the reasons: One need only look at the following:
- Most visited pages
- Skrim most visited pages - it has over 100,000 hits already, for its main page, compared with 80,000 for the Main page of this Wikia. The stats speak for themselves. Also, The Oblivion one (if included in this merge) - has recieved over 1.6 million hits - WOAH. Timeoin•Say G'Day•View my work•See current projects 00:25, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
Achievements
Edit
The plan here is to make them more individualised. Also, thanks to Ralok for some of these ideas! :)
Initial name is the "default name" for these badges. Second name is either the name or the suggested image. Suggestions highly encouraged!
- Trail Blazer --> Silt Strider
- Just the Beginning --> Handcuffs image (since the player is usually initially a prisoner of some description.
