Successful nominations
Edit
Once an article has five total supporting votes, including at least three votes coming from Black Hand or Elder Council members—one of which must be a Black Hand vote—and no outstanding objections after at least a week, the article can be added to the queue and be officially known as a "good article."
- Ensure the Black Hand approval template has been added. If not, add the following to the comments section:
~~~~~
- Remove GAnom from article page and add "good" to Eras.
- Add the following to talk page with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was nominated and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when GAnom was added. The second date is the date that the article was given GA status and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when the GA tick was added.
GA
- Paste this into nom archive page (the redlink in the above template):
- Cut nom from GA page and paste it after the above template.
- Add article to GAN history, giving start and end dates (yyyy/mm/dd) and outcome with link to archived vote.
- Add article to The Elder Scrolls Wiki:Good articles/Random in alphabetical order.
- Add article to The Elder Scrolls Wiki:Good Articles and update count.
- Paste this onto the user talk page of the nominator:
Failed nominations
Edit
Nominations that are inactive with outstanding objections for three weeks can be eliminated from the nominations list by the Black Hand. GANs can be closed prematurely if they fall below the required standard and cannot realistically be fixed. Doing so requires a quorum of at least 3 Black Hand members approving the removal of the nomination, and less than 2 opposed.
Voting to remove
Edit
To initiate a vote to remove a nomination, add the following under the FAN's comments section:
Vote to remove nomination (BH only)
The Black Hand member who initiates the vote should state clearly why the nomination should be removed. All Black Hand members should use the Bhvote template when voting, and clearly indicate whether they support or oppose removing the nomination.
Removing failed nominations
Edit
- Cut nom from GA page (save it somewhere, since it'll be pasted later).
- Remove GAnom from article page.
- Add the following to talk page with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was nominated and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when GAnom was added. The second date is the date that the vote was closed the corresponding ID is that of the revision when GAnom was removed.
- Paste this into nom archive page (the redlink in the above template):
- Paste nom after that.
- Add article to GAN history, giving start and end dates (yyyy/mm/dd) and outcome with link to archived vote.
Overriding GAN objections
Edit
Black Hand members have the power to strike objections on the Good Article nomination page provided the objection has been addressed and the original objector has been absent for at least a week after an "objection addressed" comment is left on the GA nom page, but only with a quorum of at least 3 Black Hand members approving the removal of the objection, and less than 2 opposed. Additionally, GA objections can be struck by a Black Hand member (as well as by any admin) if they do not fall under one of the rules. No vote is required.
To initiate a vote to override an objection, add the following under the GAN's comments section:
Vote to strike objection (BH only)
The Black Hand member who initiates the vote should state clearly which objection needs striking and why. All Black Hand members should use the Bhvote template when voting, and clearly indicate whether they support or oppose overriding the objection.
When the decision has been taken to override an objection, add the following as a comment under the objection, in addition to striking it:
~~~~~
GA status review
Edit
The Black Hand has the ability to strip an article of GA status.
Probation
Edit
With the approval of at least 3 Black Hand members and less than 2 opposed, an article being considered for removal of GA status can be placed on probation as follows:
- Add the following to the top of the article (if the article has been previously reviewed by the Black Hand, use a new name for the parameter):

- Follow the redlink in the above template and add the following to the page:
<div style="background:#DFCAA0; border:1px solid #AAAAAA; padding:5px">TESWiki > The Elder Scrolls Wiki:Black Hand > PAGENAME</div>

<!-- write after this line, please -->
Article name
Things to do
Removal of GA status
Comments
- List the issues that need rectifying under "Things to do" and state the meeting at which the article was placed on probation under "Removal of GA status".
After a probation period of at least two weeks, a second Black Hand vote is required to decide whether or not to remove GA status. This vote requires 3 Black Hand members to agree on the outcome, with less than 2 disagreeing.
Keeping GA status
Edit
If GA status is kept:
- Remove Gacleanup from article page
- Add the following to talk page with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was placed on probation and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when Gacleanup was added (if the template wasn't added on the nomination date, pick the first revision after it was nominated). The second date is the date that the article was taken off probation and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when Gacleanup was removed.
Ahh
{{Ahm

- On the Black Hand review page, state the meeting at which the article's GA status was kept under "Removal of GA status."
Removing GA status
Edit
If GA status is removed:
- Remove Gacleanup from article page and change "good" to "fga" in eras
- Add the following to talk page with appropriate dates and IDs (the number at the end of the URL in the page history). The first date is when the article was placed on probation and the corresponding ID should be the revision of the article when Gacleanup was added (if the template wasn't added on the nomination date, pick the first revision after it was nominated). The second date is the date that the article was stripped of FA status and the corresponding ID is that of the revision when the GA check was removed.
