Walkthrough[]

Upon completing "The Warrior's Call" and "Elemental Army," a woman named Cursare will approach you. She will tell you that something strange has happened in Belkarth. Hara has entered her chambers with Kelmen Locke and Titus Valerius, and has not been heard from since. Cursare suspects it has something to do with the Thief.

Head back to the Star-Gazers' Observatory and speak with Nazdura about the situation. She will tell you that Hara wants to speak with you in private about the visions you have been having of the Thief. Hara will be upstairs, in her private quarters. When you arrive, something will come over Hara; she will collapse, mutter something like "he found me" and tell you to head to Reinhold's Retreat, then she will disappear. Speak with Titus Valerius about this and and he will tell you that Reinhold's Retreat was buried by Emperor Tarish-Zi in the distant past, and that it should be right beneath the city of Belkarth. He will tell you to meet him and Kelmen Locke by the lake in the south of town, so that Kelmen may try to use his magic to gain entrance to the ancient site.

Head down to the lake; Titus and Kelmen will be standing by some ancient stone structures. Speak with Kelmen and he will tell you these stones used to be just stones, but now they are radiating with energy, which indicates someone recently used them to get into Reinhold's Retreat. He will suggest you search for an entrance by activating the sconces found on islands throughout the water. Activating all four of them will cause a whirlpool to appear in the center of the lake; this is your passage into the retreat. Kelmen and Titus will follow you inside; once there, start looking around. You will have to face off against many of the Scaled Court on your way through, but you should press on to the other end of the hallway. Upon entering the Hall of the Oathkeepers, Kelmen will remark that he feels the presence of a powerful sorcerer nearby.

This sorcerer is Madleena Blackvein, who awaits just ahead. When engaging her, Madleena will tell you that the Thief's Apex Stone has fallen into their hands. During the battle, she will at times become invulnerable and summon Lamias to help her out; kill the lamias to make her vulnerable again. Once she is dead, you should begin your search for the Thief's Apex Stone. This search is not hard, as this entire dungeon is one giant hallway. Proceed ahead into the Star-Gazer Sactuary. There, you will see the Serpent trying to corrupt the Apex Stone. You will also see that he has captured Hara at the stone. To end this corruption, you must repeatedly fight off a wave of enemies, then activate both the beacons at the sides of the battlefield. After doing this a few times, The Serpent's Corruption will attack you; defeat it, and the corruption will be cleansed. Hara will come down and reveal that she is in fact the Thief herself. She posed as a mortal to escape the Serpent's gaze and recruit mortals to help free the other guardians. She will stansport you back to Belkarth now; speak with her again in the Star-Gazers' Observatory to finish the quest.
