"Thorn holds the eastern edge of the continent, and has been named by some the Jewel of the East. As you enter their gates however, you realize that this town is as deadly as it is rumored to be beautiful. Vagabonds eye your purse strings and guards seem to turn lazy eyes elsewhere..."
Description in Arena

Thorn also known as the Jewel of the East is a major port city located along the eastern coastline of Black Marsh on the border region of Thornmarsh.

HistoryEdit

Early YearsEdit

The elves located in Black Marsh have settled near modern day Thorn, Arnesia, and Archon.[1]

Thorn was besieged after a member of the Naga named Avumar, struck a deal with a Dremora of the Deadlands.[2]

Second EraEdit

Prior to the Alliance War, Thorn was the provincial seat of the Great House Dres in the entirety of Thornmarsh. The local Archein tribes were hired as enforcers and slave-catchers for House Dres and their leader Councilman Glathis Dres. Around this time, the Second Akaviri Invasion had hit the Stonefalls region along the Inner Sea and many of the local Dunmer had answered the call to arms by Lady Almalexia of the Tribunal. An escaped slave named Heita-Meen took this chance to assassinate Glathis Dres and thus liberating the city of Thorn from the House Dres rule.[OOG 1]

When the Ebonheart Pact was formed in 2E 572, it consisted of the kingdoms of Eastern Skyrim, Morrowind, and the Argonian tribes of Shadowfen, Murkmire, and Thornmarsh. Thus making Thorn, Pact territory.[OOG 1]

Third EraEdit

During the Imperial Simulacrum, the Eternal Champion had at one point visited the city in their quest for a piece of the Staff of Chaos. At the time, the city of Thotn was ruled by King Tibus.[3]
