i'm tracking that magic resistance goes towards shouts or as the page on here has it title resist magic. This gives me the impression that dragon shouts damage has a magical base to it and thus would seem natural for spell absorbtion to work towards them. However such is a pressumed conclusion and the pages for dragon shouts, spell absorbtion, magicka, or really any dragon shout related pages doesnt directly verify this. As such i was hoping someone could tell me if in fact spell absorbtion, if the chance rolls out of course, will absorb dragon shouts or even if it will absorb any certain shouts IE fire breath but not unrelenting force.
Well according to lore, shouts are magic, but that isn't always relevant. It wouldn't be that hard to test for sure. Just pick up the Atronach Stone and find a dragon, then see if getting attacked refills your magicka.
As I once tested, Breton's Dragon skin power has no effects against dragon's breath. Dragon skin power has an effect of spell absorption but it doesn't work with dragon breath. That was not a strict test.

yes it does but spell absorption doesnt work the way many think it works
it doesnt absorb 50% of damage as magicka as in a 100 damage fireball will do only 50 damage and refill 50 magicka
no it gives you 50% CHANCE to absorb spells. as in 50/50 to absorb 100 magicka from the fireball.
