  • How do I convince Serana to get cured?

      Loading editor
    • I don't even think you can. Have you killed Harkon already?

        Loading editor
    • Once her father is dead she can be cured but you cannot convince her. Of the dialog options choosing "how are you feeling?" can lead to her choosing to accept a cure. If the player asks her directly if she wants a cure Serana will become defensive making it impossible to ever cure her. It is unknown as to when she will become unresponsive but it is confirmed that she will only consider a cure after her father is dead (Well dead for the last time)

    • i tryed, but i could not do it. but my dad did, but i do not know how....

        Loading editor
    • It's like Kunigonde said, it's in the dialog options.  You have to coax her into it, you can't just out and out tell her.  Apparently she gets a little touchy when told what to do after you enter the Soul Cairn with her, help her stay alive, find her mother, convince the Dawnguard not to kill her (if you were on their side), and help her kill her long-term crazy father.

        Loading editor
    • i think he did it with an amulet....

    • She can be convinced through dialog, though I dont remember exactly what I said, she ran off to Morthal and returned few days later, but nothing had really changed. She will still complain about sunlight but will be no longer able to make you a Vampire Lord.

Amulet of Articulation gained through Thieves Guild Quests make any speech check easier to win.

    • The dialogue options you're looking for go like this: Ask her how she's feeling after killing her father, then ask her if she's ever considered seeking out a cure, then when she asks you why, tell her that she could live her own life again. That's what I did, and it worked.

        Loading editor
    • When do I get that option?

        Loading editor
    • After you've completed the entire DLC questline...not it may not be available if you play on the Vampire side, I haven't playe that end yet so I can't speak to it from experience.

        Loading editor
    • I've completed Kindred Judgment a while ago; still haven't seen it.

    • It's not just out and obvious, I think someone above mentioned the train of conversation you have to take to get there.  You kind of have to make it seem like it was her idea, much like with any woman, for it to be a good idea, lol.

(Not trying to be sexist, so please don't take offense to my comment women gamers, I think y'all rock!)

    • Serana can be cured even when you have completed Dawnguard on vampire side by forcing it with command console....

Command to do this is: "setstage 03005044 0"

And when she is cured it is possible that she will wander around skyrim without clothes so you have to go to her with command: "player.moveto 03002B74"

        Loading editor
    • So atleast 200 hours ago in terms of gameplay (not ingame time) I asked her about the cure and now that I finished the quest she is already pissed when I even bring it up. Is there a way to reset her with that convo so that she acts as if I never brought it up before?

        Loading editor
    • I think it was said somewhere that if you pop out that question before killing her father, she will never give you the option to talk about it again (the same result as if you ask her directly). And that´s exactly what happened with me.

But instead, if you play along and never bring up the issue on her (until Harkon is killed and several days passed), she will finally talk about it, and eventually takes off to get cured. I tried that out as well, it worked. Here both of the options were played at Dawnguard´s side :)

        Loading editor
    • Gott'a admit after seeing the buffet table in her Daddys castle I don't really care for cannibalistic vampires; even a good looking sexy one. So I'm thinking of curing her the old fashioned way once the quest is done. By removing head from body.

I imagine any cow, pig or chicken would do the same thing if possible, seeing the approach of the butcher.

    • Can she die if she is cured? My sister wants to know.

Playing Dawnguard side. Want to know if choosing to become a vampire to enter the Soul Cairn will affect her decision?

        Loading editor
    • I first killed her father but she decided that it wasn't a good idea

        Loading editor
    • Kay guys what you want to do is complete the ENTIRE dawnguard main questline (Ancient Technology and Relics are not neccery...) once you have killed harkon on the dawnguard side (i cannot say for the vampire side) you need to travel to one of the major cities (i chose whiterun) and then ask her 'Have you ever thought about curing you Vampirism' She will teh  respond with somthing then say 'You could be your own person' or somthing (its the second one) she will the jolly off the morthal and talk with falion, after that she will come back to you

        Loading editor
    • If you aren't getting the right dialog options From Serana to cure herself after killing Harkon then use the following console command:

      "SetPapyrusQuestVar DLC1NPCMentalModel ToldPlayerSheDidntWantCure_var False"

After using the above command I was able to get the correct dialog options and send her off.

        Loading editor
    • Just don't talk to her about it until AFTER you've killed Harkon. If you ask her about it before, you've lost your chance to cure her.

    • You must join the Dawnguard I think.

        Loading editor
    • There's the slightly easier to type command -

      setstage DLC1SeranaCureSelfQuest 10

The cure doesn't sound very good though so you might want to test out what its like first before overwriting a save.

How do I convince Serana to get cured?

Well, it's complex. I know somebody may have explained this already and you probably already know how, but I'm gonna explain this for those who don't.

In order to cure Serana of Vampirism, you MUST join the Dawnguard and complete the "Kindred Judgment" quest at the end of the quest line. After completing the quest and, I assume, sometime following, the next time you initiate dialogue with her, you'll see a dialogue option saying "How are you feeling?", I think. It's been a while since I've done it. The option will regard to her well being.

From there, you need to be absolutely careful with what you say to her. In past dialogue, she says she enjoys being a vampire and doesn't plan on giving it up. If you say the wrong thing, she'll become defensive and, therefore, refuse to give up her Vampirism, for good. You can't try again if you mess up, trying to bring the topic back up will result in her shooting you down. The only way to correct this is reloading your last save.

To convince her, you have to explain facts to her. And no, you can't explain the fact of how bad Vampirism can be for someone or something that she'd find offensive. What you need to do is explain to her that her being a vampire is who she WAS. She needs to be convinced of moving on and putting her troubled past behind her.

I've only managed to do this once, but it was quite long ago. I've beaten the quest line again, but I joined the vampires and, hence, cannot convince her to cure herself. This is the best that I can remember. You can always consult a YouTube video for a more straightforward presentation.

Again, this is for new time players, if there are even any left.

        Loading editor
    • Like people have said above you have to talk to her at certain points in the Dawnguard questline and give the right answers to get the dialog to appear that sends her off to get cured, and it'll happen only if you join the Dawnguard not the Volkihar.

        Loading editor
    • Just did it, talked to her after the quest line for dawn guard is gone and selected

"have you thought about getting cured"

"You could be your own person again"

"If you choose to do it I will support you"

those may not be word for word but they are the correct path to go down to get her cured though not sure any benfits to it, the only down side is stopping you from become a vampire lord long after its over.

I went to him and I saw Serena inside, and she said she is on the curing and I have to wait to finish it.

After about 3 days waiting for her in another place  (in the game )and then I went to falion's house,

SHE IS NOT THERE. What should I have to do so I can find her?

      Thank you.

I don't suppose you made the daedric armor yourself? If you did, why not make another set?

If not, get your smithing skill high and you can make way better armors... Hope this helps!

Or can it? If a vampire can inflict a disease to the Dragonborn, an old nord woman shouldn't be a big difference...

Lore-wise, it should be possible (although it has to be by a Vampire Lord), but game-wise, it can't be added back, and as it sounds, it's very glitchy.

and i am pretty interested about it too, only for the sake of dialogue with serana, and pure curiosity, i have clavicus viles's maque on, and vase speec of 45+20 from clavicul vile's masque asked her on the soul cairn mission (i think) and now, after finnishing main dawnguard quests, she tells me at first: "I think I was a bit short with you last time..." and my options are to answer "i'll drop it", "it matters to me", and "Shouldn't have brought it up again"

What a completely rational and justified reaction that is in no way seeped in the ironic tones of overly offensive misandry. Obviously had his mother known that one day her son would dare cause such a blight on humanity then he would have very well been a successful abortion after all. Thank god for science and god bless America.

Back to reality though, grow up or chill out.

Not only is that the least offensive tongue and cheek joke conceivably possible (which is just as commonly said about men), but having been three years guarantees that even if that’s untrue he wouldn’t even hold the same viewpoint today. Your “righteous” anger is the only thing remotely offensive around here I assure you

I never even considered curing Serana, but then having taken the side of the vampires I suppose I see her more of a custodian being the only vampire with the temperament and knowledge to reign in a cult that left to their own devices would undoubtedly either become a scourge on the lands or just more feral uncontrollable vampires to add to the pile. Mostly though I want her blood arrows, delicious, delicious blood arrows.
