me: *Makes her an amazing set of enchanted gear to protect her* "Hey lydia I want to trade with you"

Lydia: *sarcastic voice* "I am sworn to carry your burdens" every SINGLE time I open trade with her.

I think they mean stolen is in the actual item title not that its marked as stolen. Could be from a quest that was never properly added to the game or it could be related to a Thieves Guild quest.

I had the quest to become a Thane for her, but did not turn it in until Maven became Jarl; at least she's nowhere near as fake as Laila. Now whenever I want to see my dawg Brunwulf, I have to put up with two corpses (one naked, sorry Ulfric) that won't go away, and a parade of eight or so nobles and/or Housecarls who piss and moan that they're stuck in a palace under house arrest...If they weren't essential, I totally would have Sithis'd them all by now. Almost all the other popularly-hated characters are either nowhere near as annoying to me (Heimskr, Nazeem, Ondolemar), or have their justified reasons to be a*holes (such as the Dawnguard when I joined the Volkihar, enemies of the Thieves / Dark Brotherhood, all the racists, hell, even Forsworn)

OH, and there's this one time when they brought their deathbitches, i killed'em all and, to train my conjuration and sneak, i reanimated and sneak-attacked'em, which turned them into ashes, days later, their ashy remains were still there, never to disappear!!! my whiterun now has 2 ash piles but 2 less peeps...

The Whiterun priest does not bother me, neither does Cicero. I have grown used to Heimskir, and I enjoy Cicero's unpredictably. In fact, I plan to have Cicero as a follower, as long as he does not mind being hit with a few Storm Calls.

On the other hand, I am annoyed with General Tullius...Just two levels earlier, all he would give me is Iron Armor. At Level 69, he should be giving me Daedric...

      Gameplay does not equal lore;

The battle with Tsun is simply a toll bridge that you have to pay to pass. Like the real world; if you pass right through and didn't pay you are busted.

I don't wish children were killable, just intimidatable, I'd love scaring the #@$! our of the annoying kids like Braith, Assur, Britte, Frodnar, all of Baalgruuf's kids, and probably more.

    • The children I find annoying the most are those kids you find in a randon encounter that try to sell you stuff in the reach. I thought young children were taught not to talk to strangers. They just never stop appearing for me for some reason.

    • The most annoying NPC in the game right NOW is Eldergleam and she's not even humanoid. Seriously, I have to blow up a hagraven, steal her knife, and then stab you until you lift your roots so I can have my quest follower ask Kyne to order you to give us a single sapling?

Since you clearly display control of your roots, you could at least move them out of the way so Kynareth's followers could go up there and get a closer look.

    • I agree about Frea I just got done doing the Dragonborn questline, & the moment I met Frea I thought, this girls voice is just very irritating to me, I hope she goes away soon. Worst of all she charges the enemies while Serana is casting lightning & frost spells, gets hit by them & starts fighting Serana. No thanks I would rather not have to put up with a battle between immortals. I was glad she left after the temple was completed. Serana though, eh shes not to bad, it might just be me but I have Lydia & Serana both as followers, & they share their thoughts so I don't only hear Serana's whining all the time or her say done & done constantly. It's a mix between the two girls, so I can put up with it. They both also fight pretty often. Thank God for dual wield Pacify.

don't take serana back home, she doesn't count as your main follower.

        Loading editor
    • No no I have completed the entire Dawnguard questline. I don't know exactly how she doesn't count as follower, but when I started it I didn't have any followers at the time, after defeating Harkon I made her my follower. However I went to do the companions quests after that to become VL werewolf hybrid, & during those quests it's supposed to make Farkas & Vilkas & Aela temporary followers, well when you have Serana as a follower, she doesn't leave like other followers do. The game makes Serana temporary as well, but she keeps all of her follower commands still. & will never leave unless you tell her it's time to part ways. Thus making you be able to have another follower. She came with me on Farkas companion quest, & Aela quest after becoming a werewolf, & with Vilkas after Kodlak dies, she can follow you everywhere, except the underforge & dark brotherhood sanctuary. On the wikia one of the bugs for proving honor says this,

      •  360   Normally if having an follower when starting the quest he/she would become dismissed with the message: "Your Companion replaces your current follower." If the Dawnguard DLC has been purchased and Serana is with the Dragonborn, she won't be dismissed.

That's what happened to me, although I didn't know it was possible until seeing this only works with Serana apparently, ever since the companions quests Serana hasn't been counted as follower, though she retains all the commands of a follower, I can trade with her, she will make bloodcursed arrows, tell her to wait, or it's time to part ways. I have never parted ways with her while having Lydia as well, I'm scared I won't ever get her back.

    • Oh I'm on ps3 as well, idk if that matters or not, but that says it only does it on 360, well ps3 should be added to it as well. I don't know about pc, my pc version I haven't done the Dawnguard yet.

    • The most annoying characters are the ones that can't be killed! Good example of this are children (damn Braith to Oblivion!) or some essential characters. It's not like I would necessarily kill them if I could, it's just so annoying to know I can't.

    • Delphine is such a stupid and annoying b*tch! Come on, Paarthurnax was born a dragon* so he had to fight against his every instinct to become as patient and tolerant of stupid and petty mortals as he now is. It's not easy going against your own brother, either (I should know).

Delphine basically accuses him of something he did a long time ago -something he was expected to do (just as she is expected to do certain things as a blade even if she doesn't want to). But she thinks it's okay for HER to follow her petty oath even when it makes no sense but still accuses Paarthurnax of following his own violent path years ago. In my books Paarthurnax did a lot more than the blades ever did to help me safe Skyrim. It would make no sense to follow the blades' oath and kill the only dragon who helped defeat the ultimate enemy (Alduin).

    • Of course, upon first encounter, I found Ancano, Ondolemar, Elenwen and all the other Thalmor agents extremely annoying (but also very sexy). They're supposed to be annoying, right? With their talk of Elven supremacy and the superiority of their breeding. They all seemed to think they're so much better than my poor Nord character.

Then I learned some Nords are just as annoying in their hatred for Elves. And the way they keep Dunmer in slums is so wrong. And that one piggot who preached about the awfullness of the dark elves even though Jenassa was right next to me.... Guess who got an axe in their head. By Jenassa.

Skyrim is full of Nords so there's gotta be a few annoying ones in the bunch. But almost ALL the Altmer characters seem to be annoying. All the men at least. Maybe only the most annoying ones came to skyrim because they were the most interested in gaining power there.

My theory is that the Thalmor are in the game because they're so fun to beat. They're the perfect antagonists and we love to hate them. And that's why I don't find them annoying at all any more! Quite in the contrary! I find them quite sexy and hope I get attacked by them just so that I can kill them -preferably choke them slowly to death or slit their throats with one move.

I guess I'm quite violent for a chick...

Lemkil- Reasons stated in the previous comment Irileth- Everytime I enter dragonsreach for the first time, I always go to farengar to enchant items and buy spells, but she stalks me around and says "Jarl Balgruff is not receiving visitors." Nazeem Delphine- We serve the dragon born, now invade the thalmor embassy by yourself because I have a grudge. Sahrortaar- he betrays you

    • I have agree with many people here, the kids are annoying, just like pretty much anyone who keeps repeating some snobbish line (like that "Oh great, another charming customer" stuff). However, my personal pet peeve is most talking enemies when playing as a Khajit - saying how I'd make a nice rug. I try to pretend it's a compliment.

    • Guards. They're stupid, "I used to be an adventurer like you until I took an arrow to the knee." I can shoot a guard in the knee and he can follow me across Skyrim without limping. And no, no one stole my sweetroll.

I was stupid a few years ago.

Those seven quotes made me laugh inside....

Here are my own most annoyings.

      1. Serana- I'd do the black sacrament on her to make her stop complaining!

      2. Mogrul- I can't imagine why you must warn me about paying my debts MORE THAN once!

      3. General Falx Carrius- Fort Frostmouth has already fallen. 200 hundred years ago! Lem'me show you to Oblivion. It's quite a lovely walk...

      4. Ysolda- Die already!

      5. Ulfric Stormcloak- "I fight for my people impoverished to pay the debts of an empire to weak to rule them, yet brands them criminals for wanting to rule themselves!" Shut up. The reason the empire won't blindly give Skyrim to you is that you're a racist, nazi, bigotted fagot. I want to mount his head on my doorway, to ward off stormcloak supporters... Too bad that's not possible. Maybe I could make/ suggest a mod with that idea...

      6. Delphine- Tons of people already explained the reason why I hate her. Also, Paarthurnax is the best dragon in the game... You can't make me kill him!!! I'm supposed to be the boss, so stop telling me what to do!

      7. Jarl Elisif the Fair- Stay in one place, Damn it! WHY MUST YOU walk THREE miles away from Solitude?!?

      8. The self proclaimed, "First," Dragonborn. Stop stealing my souls, damn it!

      9. Companions and their stupid guard status. Do I really need to pay off my bounty in all holds to make you quit chasing me ACROSS ALL OF SKYRIM!?!

      10. Falmer

    • Not "characters" per se, but I find Bears and Wolves to be extremely annoying. The wolves wait by the side of the road while you're having a calm stroll, and run up and bite you in the leg and next thing you know: you've got Rockjoint! The bears get pissed if you approach them to 20 yards away, and run up from the underbrush where you couldn't see them and then half kill you before you figure out where the damn bear came from and then you don't even have enough stamina to get away because they gave you Rockjoint!

Yep, i usual avoid him now so he slowly stalks me round the market.

I Love Brynjolf, awesone guy who gives you a Job even if you fail his test. DUH. Heimskr, Nazeem, Skjor, Lars Battle-born, Lydia, Proventus and Bulgruufs Kids are miles worse

Later on he says "Oh, finally came to your senses. Ready to make some coin?". DUDE I own 2 houses, I'm thane of 3 different cities and am decked out in extremely fancy clothes AND have an amazing armor and weapons in my backpack that I crafted myself. I'm SURE I already have more gold that you'll earn in a lifetime, "lad". You live in a f%$#@* sewer!

Also Ondolemar is simply a joke "You have the honor of addressing a member of the Thalmor. Bask in it.". And you have the honor to meet my dagger in your throat. Bask in it.

Adpoted children. "Did you bring me anything?". Of course I did *give them a broom* now you know what to do. "But I don't want to!". I WASN'T ASKING. "yes, pa".

But nothing can beat the NPCs who love to be heroes everytime the city is attacked by vampires, pveneting me to cast an AoE spell or melee attack without hurting them.

    • Njada Stonearm. She's a complete bitch to you up until you become Harbinger and then duddenly it's like you've been best friends since childhood. I'd kill her, but I like being able to get free training in block, and for me, THAT's what makes her truly annoying. 😡

Heimskr is annoying, but I always make it my mission to kill him when I turn into a Werewolf for the first time. He dies, I eat him, no bounty. After that... Blissful silence in Whiterun! 😍

It's the characters you could kill, but will be at a disadvantage if you do that adds to the irritation level for me. 😄

In Brynjolf's defense, he is desperate. He's probably tried everything to get someone new (and competent) into the guild.

Plus everyone seems permanently stuck at the Ragged Flagon, no wonder business is so bad. Besides, you unfortunately look the same for the guild members when you start any guild questline. I remember something from Vilkas, like "Why her/him? I've never heard of this person!" While you are Dragonborn and possibly already finish the main quest/became the master of every other guilds, are a thane of every cities, etc

Back on the subject : Nelkir, the quote he delivers is annoying at the start and worse after you talk to him about the Ebony Blade. I don't know if annoying is the good word, maybe he's more disturbing : the brat wants to kill Balgruuf when he'll be an adult (I wish I stopped this but he's essential and a kid, you know), insults him, reveal very personnal secrets about his father ...

    • @Kiadony + Billitis - Vilkas and Faralda don't accept you right off the bat, asking why you, a stranger, want to join them. But Brynjolf walks up to me, a total stranger, and says, “You’ve never worked a day in your life for all that coin you’re carrying around, eh lad.” This is a really screwy thing to say to an adventurer (I imagine chopping wood to buy Breezehome is pretty labor-intensive). I guess he’s supposed to be insinuating that I’m naturally a thief, but he says this to the player regardless of what gear they have or how much money they’ve got. It’s also odd because you can’t steal for a living until you join the guild, because you have no way to unload stolen goods unless you enable the perk Fence. He’s implying you’re a thief, when by definition you can’t be one yet. So no matter who you are, he’s flat-out wrong. It’s also odd to be approached to join the Thieves Guild. I get that the guild has fallen on hard times, but this still feels awkward.

    • I find the entire Dark Brotherhood - except for Cicero, because he's funny and the only one who always likes you - completely annoying. They all hate your guts when you introduce yourself to them, and are cocky and full of shit afterwards. Then, suddenly, when you save Nazir's and Babette's asses from the Penitus Oculatus' fire, they are all like, "Oh, Listener! We love you Listener!" Quit sucking up to me.

      • Nazir: If you hate all manner of entertainers, including jesters, why do you joke when I complete a contract? Frickin' double standard.
      • Babette: "I'm older than you. A lot older..." I know. You've said that every time I walk by.
      • Veezara: "Do everything that Astrid tells you to..." Hell no. If I did, I'd be a bandit in black and red clothing.
      • Arnbjorn: "Roast," "Tidbit," "Hamhock," "Morsel..." Now you got turned into one when you burned in the fire! Who's a "roast" now?!
      • Festus: "I was born with a wand in my hand! I'm the best mage ever!!" Whenever I see him outside of the Sanctuary pinned by all those arrows, I thumb my nose at him and sass, "Couldn't conjure your way out of that one, asshole?"
      • Astrid: "I think I'm the best! Worship the ground I walk on!" Yeah, and look where that got you. You deserved it.
