Post your "arrow farming" locations here!
will try to do it, but I find them a bit rare, now I'm only level 40, but thx anyway for the tips
the follower infinite arrow thing doesn't always work for me, sometime they make infinite arrows, sometime they use them up. that's why I reverse pickpocket them onto the thieves guild, they get strong weapons that they'll never use, and I get strong ammunition so I never run out of the best stuff.
Darn, this thread made me miss poor Faendel.
I gave a Reikling one Daedric arrow and it threw easily 100, I still don't get that but I ain't complainin'.
Yes, followers with only 1 arrow will shoot (throw for Rieklings) an UNLIMITED amount of them. They're NOT just reusing it. AND you get to go pick up their stray arrows. I only ever made 1 set of Dragon bone arrows and gave one to each of my followers, now I have HUNDREDS of them. Oh, and I also gave them crossbows with an Exploding Dwarven Bolt of Fire. But now (occasionally) I have to put down a Dead Thrall temporarily, because they'll fire them at enemies who are right next to another follower, causing collateral damage & a fight to the death.

What happened to him? Did he die? He died on one of my playthroughs.
This thread is two years old and Dylan is here anymore so you probably won't get a answer, i'm guessing yes though.
It certainly does work there I've done it myself, did you remove all their steel arrows first?
The other location not mentioned is Dragonsreach Great Porch, the guards will practise archery there late afternoons (3pm-6pm iirc). Its my favourite location to farm them mainly as its nearest to Breezehome, though Solitude has two guards so will return twice as many in a given time, in theory.
Now in my second game, with Dawnguard enabled, I just realized that crafting iron arrows is a good way to make some money while (I think) leveling smithing. 1 iron ingot + 1 firewood --> 24 iron arrows, all for the cost of 1 iron ore. It would be good to be judicious, however, because iron ore is useful for many other purposes. You just need to develop speech and use various aids to bartering to the point where you can sell an article with base value of 1 septim for 1 septim (due to a rounding-up at some point in the calculations). At this point, any article with base value of 2 septims will still sell for only 1 septim, and any more valuable item will also be discounted. Hence articles with base value 1 become the best things to sell at this time.
While on the subject of arrows and money-making, I also just discovered that if there are arrows adhering to the soldiers' practice target in Solitude that you cannot remove from the front, look behind the target. You will see the tips of arrows protruding and, in my experience, can always remove them from behind, although it is a little more trouble.
Give Lydia an arrow and wait for her to kill with her bow, than collect her arrows
