Really?? you can only do one at a time....
If you use the Aetherial crown in Dawnguard, you can have two standing stones.
I know this is an older thread but I felt compelled to throw something at the Word Wall (lol see what I did there) to see if it sticks. IMHO the Aetherial Crown is a piece of sh*t, sure the idea is cool and it looks cool, and requires a fair bit of dungeon diving to get, but Morokei Mask pretty much negates the need to have two Standing Stone Buffs based solely on mana regen. It gives 100% regen already and has light armor which is great for a mage. I don't like sharing builds openly because it takes your fun away from self-discovery, and there's nothing more rewarding than figuring something out for yourself, that totally destroys every enemy you come up against.
There's masteries/perks you can take that have similar effects and dont require you to waste space on useless items. You want to get Ward Absorb, 2/2 of Recovery in Restoration, 3/3 of Magic Resistance and 1/1 in Atronach in Alteration. I also use the Achmage's Robes as they're by far the best clothes/armor for mages (pretty sure Savos Aren sucked, the clothes make the man as they say).
Now this is where it starts to get crazy, so let's get down to brass tacks. I use 4 vanilla skyrim items and 2 I resto-looped myself in alchemy/enchant. I use Stalhrim light boots and gloves for the appearance and quality, which are over-smithed using my alchemy/smithing gear (Legendary is only a label, has nothing to do with dmg/arm value). I'm putting out 366 armor with no chestplate, so you get the idea. On my boots I have Muffle and Fortify Carry Weight by 60lbs, and my gauntlets add 115 flat mana plus fortify block by 75%. Now the reason for this whole blocking thing is I use SpellBreaker, because it's utterly insane on mages.
It's basically a no cost ward that absorbs a decent amount of spell dmg and converts it to mana (Warb Absorb) after I shrug off 30% (MR) and absorb 30% (Atronach Perk) of whatever DPS is left over. I laugh in the face of Master Cryomancers on Legendary. All this while giving you the ability to block physical attacks/Shouts/Dragon Breath and shield bash to stun opponents who might get too close to you. Combine this with Block Runner and you'll be charging at your enemies head-on like some kind of Mage Juggernaut. Some people might think 75% fortify block with the 20% mastery to buy into block tree is a bit much, but I've died from Daedric arrows to the back, so there is a risk vs reward there.
For a ring I use Ahzidal's Ring of Arcana, as it's DoT and stacks on itself. You fire off 5-6 fireballs that juice even the toughest opponents (21x15x6 = 1890 DoT) so they're dead before they even know wtf just hit them. Now onto Standing Stones; The Ritual Stone. Combine this with Ahzidals Ring of Necromancy for the 10 man Draugr explosion. I think I've already said too much, but I emplore anyone reading this to give it a go. Oh and I use Wabbajack as my staff, breaks up the monotony of killing everything in sight, cos sometimes I just like to turn them into a cute little bunny rabbit.
I'm sorry but the ring of the Erudite is the best ring for mage and you can enchant better gear than those trash archmage robes and if your using thm, you either are low leveled and have a small magicka pool or can't be bothered to enchant better gear.
Morokei becimes redunadant if u have a magicka pool of +800 atleast
(just saying, kinda hard to get 800+ magicka at a low level, cuz you'll need a lot in enchanting and probably some potions to get close to that. Unless, you are saying that you are level 81 with no fortify magicka gear and put all your level ups into magicka… not likely)
