They're most likely still active in Cyrodiil. Considering most of the Knights weren't intact with the Imperial Factions, why would the Thalmor include them as enemies? Wouldn't make sense, after the Hero of Kvatch turned into Sheogorath in the Shivering Isles, maybe they became a small powered group. The same way the Dark Brotherhood were in Skyrim, they weren't huge, but they were known, and powerful.
They are a group devoted to the Nine, one of the Nine being Talos. Also, the group was formed in honor of Pelinal Whitestrake, who commited mass-genocide against all of the elves; in fact he probably killed more elves than anyone else.

It's not from a mod. I found it on my 360. It is a dead body next to one of the flags from the priory. My best guess is it was one who went to Skyrim for a quest and froze to death. However, there is no official lore about the body.

Can you provide a source for this please?
I found it on the 360 version of the game. Also, it's on the Easter Egg page of this wiki so apparently I'm not the only one to find it.
When you said "one of them can be found" i thought of the ghost from the mod, there is a skeleton by a flag and the book The Knights of the Nine in the base game. Personally i need more than a book to say he was a knight though.
well you would be wrong he does everything they do, is needed for the nine quest and most importantly was raised to godhood by kynerath, stendar and akatosh himself when they did the miracle of peace
then you couldnt wear the armor cause you talos would be pissed at you and you need all 9 to use all nine relics(one of which is actively a blessing from TALOS)
