I just recieved a Letter of Inheritance from a courier, regarding the death of my friend "Bandit." Somehow, I don't think this is right... Has this happened to anyone else before?

Got myself thrown in jail in whiterun, and in the same cell as me is a dead npc called "prisoner", after escaping the jail i had a courier run up to me with a inheritance letter from my dear friend "prisoner". As far as i know, that npc was never alive to begin with ...
So my story is that I went into the Ratway to find d Esbern for the main Dragonborn quest, I killed all the Thalmor on my way out and went to Riverwood to meet up with Delphine. I got to Riverwood and got an inheritance from knjakr who turns out was the murderous and canabalistic guy that lived in the Ratway, but U never interacted with him..... WTF
Certain spells and stuff can make it so that whoever you use it on is your “friend” for however long said spell lasts. If a “friend” dies, they have a chance to send you can inheritance. Or sometimes the game is just broken. That’s Skyrim for ya.
i have a feeling part of this i because instead of programming inividual names, they just made the game scan for the name of the inheritance-giver
I got a letter of inheritance from Silver Hand for 300 Septim. Inappropriately, the courier delivered it during Kodlak Whitemane’s funeral...
I just received three inheritance letters, accompanied by 400 gold pieces per letter from mercenaries that I'd just killed in Goldenglow Estate.
