  • I'm trying to get rid of the Stolen tag for the Golden Claw item, because I'm collecting all the Dragon Claws. I've tried Reverse Pickpocketing, dropping it and getting someone to pick it up and selling it to a fence then Buying it again. I'd really appreciate it if someone gave me a working answer.

    • I've also tried the Necromancer trick as well, still doesn't work.

I've tried what it says on the wiki. In the Picking up one Nobody can be bothered to give me the claw.

    • Uh, you can put it into the dawnstar chest than immediately buy it back from the Khajit merchant. She will sell whatever's in the chest and no stolen tag.

      @NoobThatNeedsHelp

I am betting you are a pro that knows everything and is just trolling us

    • It got rid of the Stolen Tag but it still says "Steal" when I try to pick it up...

Do I really have to marry Lucan's Sister to be able to pick it up without it saying Steal?

Put it in a container you don't own, then have a follower steal from that container, then take the item from the followers inventory, that works on PS3, unsure about every other medium

    • Sadly that was patched according to the wiki, so i don't know if it'll work :(

    • Are you a member of the thieves' guild? I haven't tested it with the golden claw, but try selling it to the woman who buys your stolen stuff. Again, don't know if it'll work as it's likely a quest item. If it works tho, sell it to her then buy it back. It'll cost you a coin or two if it works, but the stolen mark should be gone.

    • Something that works, for PC only:

      - drop the item on the floor

      - open the console, target the stolen item (its id should (always?) start with ff)

      - type "setownership" and validate

      - ???

      - Profit!

    • I know 3 ways

1 Get arrested and after getting out of the cell, get your follower to loot the Evidence Chest

2 Find any indoor container, dump all the stolen stuff in it and have your follower to loot the container

3 Sell the items to a fence, and buy back for a higher price
