My first character is an Argonian named Agius. After escaping Helgen he aspired to become a professional thief and freelance adventurer. Things with the Thieves Guild were going downhill since the treasury was cleaned out by Mercer. To blow off some steam he accepted a job to exterminate a vampire coven. If only he knew what the gods had in store for him.
After killing the leader with Dawnbreaker he barely escaped with his life. He returned to the jarl and accepted his payment. He then traveled to Falkreath to sell some spare equipment. After exiting the general store the sun momentarily blinded him. Thus he realized he had become that which he most despised. He had become a vampire.
Trying to hide his condition he stayed in Falkreath due to the overcast conditions. After several days the clouds moved on and people began to suspect. Leaving Falkreath behind to follow the clouds he arrived in Shor's Stone to sell his ores. That's when he reached the final stage of infection and his secret came out.
Everyone, appalled at his true nature, rushed at him like a lynch mob. Acting in self-defense he slaughtered the inhabitants of the mining community and left for Riften. Sneaking into Haelga's Bunkhouse he fed on the sleeping patrons and left to ponder his curse.
Horrified at the pointless violence he had to commit he cried out in anguish to Meridia, begging her to end his curse. Hearing no reply he realized it was because he had become the ultimate abomination in her sight; her Champion of Life was now undead. Realizing he had no hope he decided to end his life taking as many of those monsters down as he could.
With Dawnbreaker in hand he went on a rampage across Skyrim, killing every vampire, and very nearly himself, he could track down. Eventually he discovered Falion and was cured.
What are the ideals your character holds dear and have they held on to them against insurmountable odds like Agius did?
