I mean if their secert was found out by one individual, the masses would think that individual was crazy and would ignore him. But if a large group found out that could br deiffrent. But the outcome would be as you said. Ther are farmes behid the exit of the underforge, i wonder why no one from the farms noticed that.
No, they won't. I'm past lvl 10 and I always pay a visit to their HQ Â and kill everyone before it gets burned (and loot Carcette's robes).
No seriously, I don't think if masses learn what's really going on they will attack except if there something really bad to incriminate them. You know, like in Falkreath. Whiterun may be a scared but in the end they know their Companions because action speaks louder.
About the exit I don't know, to me it seems isolate enough in the dark. Also if farmers hear sound they may think it's where the Companions keep dogs.

Daedra worship is banned by law in Skyrim.
You're right but I don't see the Companions worshipping anything. It's an important thing about this questline, Kodlak don't want to end up in Hircine's territory and hunt forever.
Also it's a bit more complicated than vampirism for exemple, because it's not on your face and you're not forced to drink to "survive". Technically you don't even have to hurt anyone, since in Skyrim you don't change wether you like it or not when there's a full moon.
Maybe I'm an optimist but I like to think if there's a trial, the fact that they have control and do their job without rampaging a city will matter.

Scaring the people is bad enough, and what if a Companion turns rogue? What if he becomes insanely mad or loses his control? The people would not be safe.
Indeed. And if theyre was somehow a trial, then i doubt they would get far without the silver hand or vigleants of stendarr influecingit in an attempt to make the circle lose. But thats jst my therory.

Of course it's possible, but same could be said about sorcerers for exemple yet you have court mages in Whiterun, Riften, Markharth, Solitude, etc. There's even a college for that, even if it's not very popular among the inhabitants.
My point is, it's not because you have a power that you will abuse it and there are bad or mad people in every category of a population. I'm sure some people will freak out yes, but I don't see a riot.
Something we should consider is their popularity, let's say Kodlak lived. I don't see someone like that being killed after a trial. Controlled yes, but not put to death.Â
@ a FANDOM user : Enlighten me, people : Since the Vigilant HQ is destroyed, can't we assume they lack power or numbers for something like that? Vigilant Tyranus and Vigilant Tolan the last ones ( and the two of them died pretty quickly), yes ? As for the Silver Hand in the end, we don't know a lot about them so it's difficult to say. If they are intelligent enough to infiltrate the city guard, maybe. I wonder how many they are.
True the silver hand is weak. And if kodlak lived, i doubt anyone would try to bring a case aginst him without feeling stupid. Andin terms of a trial i doubt one would try to find them ( circle) guilty.
I've been part of the Circle for quite a long time, and nobody has ever confronted me about being a werewolf. The guards may say things like, "Uh, been tending your hounds? You smell like wet dog"Â
But besides that, it's not like the Silver Hand actually comes for you when you're wandering about. You come to them.
As far as I know...
