Topal Island (also called Topal Isle) is an island found in the eastern part of Topal Bay, near the mouth of the Niben River.[1][OOG 1] It is part of either Cyrodiil or Black Marsh,[2][3] and has been near a number of interesting events due to its location.[OOG 2] The island has a tropical climate, and a volcano on the northern side takes up half of the island's area.[4]

Eroded ruins of Xanmeer structures dot the island, suggesting that there was once an ancient Argonian civilization that inhabited it.[4] The Grand Topal Hideaway was later constructed at some point, serving as a remote headquarters for criminal organizations.[4] Though the volcano erupted on a few occasions, the Hideaway has remained unharmed.[OOG 2] Around 2E 582, the correspondence of the island was handled by a Senchal attorney under the then owner's orders, for privacy reasons.[OOG 2] By 3E 433, Topal Island was considered within the borders of Cyrodiil.[2]

The southern side of the island is a shallow sandy beach, and the northern side is a large active volcano. Both sides are separated by a tropical forest filled with tall trees.

The island has a tropical climate and clear weather, and is warmed by the active volcano.
