Hearthfire Trademarked[]

It appears another Skyrim DLC could be on its way. Bethesda Softworks parent company, ZeniMax Media, has filed a trademark application under the name Hearthfire. The trademark submission can be found here.

DLC Possibilities[]

Concerning Skyrim lore, as many of you Elder Scrolls enthusiasts already know, Hearthfire is a month in the Elder Scrolls basically the same as our “real-world” September. Putting this into consideration, September, although unlikely, may be eligible for an announcement concerning another DLC for Skyrim. There is no doubt Hearthfire is the leading candidate for Skyrim’s next DLC, the filed trademark application specifically applies to “Computer game software for use with computers and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices”.

By taking a look at some of the notable events in the month of Hearthfire, occurring outside the expanse of Skyrim, there is one occurrence that shines some light on what could possibly be included in the DLC. “Tales and Tallows”, which occurs on the 3rd day of Hearthfire, is an unsanctioned celebration of necromancy disgraced and feared by countless citizens. Although Skyrim does not wholly revolve around necromancy, it is a possible class option that can be developed depending on the players’ character construction and training. Since the event is shrouded in ill reputation, information regarding “Tales and Tallows” isn’t extraordinary; this leaves the developers with a lot of potential and room for expansion. It is also worth mentioning that the 3rd day of Hearthfire is the very summoning date of the he Daedric Prince, Nocturnal.

Evidently none of this should be taken as fact; this information is based on theory. Any signs or specifics regarding Hearthfire, or any conceivable DLC, by Bethesda are yet to be official.

"Official Hearthfire Description" Leaked[]

According to a Recent Hearthfire Leak, it is possible that the rumored expansion for Skyrim could use the house construction idea Bethesda introduced in the Wizard's Tower DLC for Oblivion.

A Dependable Reddit User responsible for leaking legitimate material regarding Mass Effect DLC's has revealed, what is believed to be, the official description of the Hearthfire DLC.

Hearthfire™, the next official game-add on for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim®, has arrived. For the first time in the Elder Scrolls universe, purchase land and build your own home from the ground up – from a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with armory, alchemy laboratory, trophy room, and more! With Hearthfire, the possibilities of what you can build are endless.

To have faith in this leak is up to you, but is homebuilding something Skyrim players are really looking for?
