Every now and then a game has a turning point where you realize you're not just playing a great game, but a true classic. For me, it was exiting the prison at the beginning of Oblivion. After fighting through the dark, narrow hallways of the prison and passing through that final gate, I was greeted with a beautiful and vibrant open world waiting to be explored. The sight of it all and the freedom that came with it was overwhelming, in the best possible way.

    7,000 articles!

    November 8, 2011 by JoePlay

Hi all. I noticed that The Elders Scrolls Wiki reached 7,000 articles today, November 8th - three days before the release of Skyrim. I just wanted to give a quick shout-out to you guys, TES Wiki community. Congratulations!

For anyone that might be curious, the 7,000th article was Hilde, created by User:SoKoLoV.

With Skyrim just 3 days away and considering the vast amount of content it will contain, I wonder how soon the wiki will reach 8,000. :)

    Alduin’s Wall

    January 14, 2011 by JoePlay

It has been revealed that the large, moveable background image found at the official Elder Scrolls site actually tells a story. The story depicted is "a history and a prophecy that speaks to one of the great legends of Tamriel – the story of Alduin". Alduin is the name of one of the dragons that once terrorized Tamriel but has now returned.

Explore the interactive image for yourself - at GameInformer.com - and learn what the hero of Skyrim, the Dragonborn, will be forced to uncover as he examines it for clues.
