Allow me to take you back to Morrwind. Vardenfell, to be exact. This Game was my first TES game, I still have it, and play it.
In my opinion, it is the best TES game of the five. The story was amazing, the music fit in perfectly, and you never had markers, or fast travel, you could ignore quests, because you had no markers for them, and it has more then twenty skills, letting you have a TRUE Character, who could be more useful with a dagger then a claymore, and it had crossbows, spears and awesome combat. Fatigue meant more then how far you could sprint, no fatigue, no combat, you would always miss.
That being said, it had flaws, bad graphics was one, no speech beyond the generic "What is it, out-lander" and to many other things to count. Magic failed a lot, so did enchanting, sneak was useless. And unless you were a Breton with boots of blinding speed, you moved slower then a upward-bound stick of butter.
I find it shocking how many people have never played this game, and even more shocked on how people are turned away by graphics. If you haven't tried it, give it a try, if you don't like it for things other then the graphics, okay, so be it.
