So I haven't written a blog in a while and thought this would be a good time to bring something up that I've been hearing/seeing recently. It would appear as though the major focus of Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) in the endgame phases will be PvP (Player vs Player). This might sound like a cool thing to some of you, but for people like me it strikes another blow to the confidence in the game.
Now I liked the idea that PvP was going to be separated from he PvE content, and that it'd have its own set of rules to follow. That essentially makes it a game of its own, while keeping balance to both PvE and PvP. However, some of the recent rumors coming out of the beta events are making it seem like, beyond a handful of dungeons and the occasiona…Read more >
Finding a place to make camp was of the utmost importance, she knew that as much as the warrior did. The old man seemed to not care one way or the other. It seemed like he could go on forever without stopping. However, she and this warrior actually grew tired.
From time to time she would notice the dark eyes of the plate-clad man staring at her, whether it was in lust or suspicion, she could not quite say. Adelina Rose was not hard on the eyes. Tall, though not so tall for an Altmer, with hips that widened just enough to not be disproportioned and hair to her shoulders a shade or red-brown that gleamed in the evening sun, Adelina was often fawned over by other Altmer she encountered. Rarely from other races, most just assume her untrus…Read more >
So I was thinking about the guilds we have in the game so far. We have the Fighter's (Companions), Mage's (College of Winterhold), Dark Brotherhood (Morag Tong), and the Thieve's. First of all, let me say that it's a little sad we don't have a secondary guild for the Thieve's since we have all the others. Secondly, allow me to get on with my actual thoughts:
What if we had a spy guild of some sort. Essentially, they would be paid to work contracts of information. From gathering to planting, they would be hired out by great houses and whole governments alike. Just imagine being in the spy guild (still working on a name) and getting a contract to infiltrate some head quarters of another government in order to plant evidence or to alter partic…Read more >
I'll still be posting my fan-fiction and TES blogs here, but I'll also be adding them to a new unified website. I'm making it to house all my content in one location, it's still under construction so bear with me, please. On it you will find my TES stuff that you normally see here, some screenshots from various games, and links to my YouTube content. I'll rant about other games and have some other fan-fic stuff post there from time to time, as well. Feel free to check me out, and please be kind, at www.captobviousgaming.com. Thank all for your continued interest in these characters, I have an all-new character in the works at the moment, and still have some fine-tuning to current storylines to finish. With my pending wedding and extra stuf…Read more >
With all the talk of Elder Scrolls Online, and all the MMOs that are out there on the market, I thought I'd take a minute to look at what some of the big players, and the small ones, are doing to set themselves apart. We'll be taking a look at several games from the past and present, and even take a look into the not-so-distant future. Some of what you'll be reading is conjecture, some of it is opinion, some of this will be fact. I won't really be separating them and defining them, as all of them will be thrown together to make what forms the ultimate fate that I see happening. Let's jump into this, shall we?
So we all know that EverQuest (EQ) essentially paved the way for the modern fantasy MMO - at least if you're older than 15, you …
