Winterhold Edit

Broken Links Edit

That one I can actually answer :) The reason why there are broken links is that the page is not yet created. Most of the time, this is a temporary thing (Keep in mind, I only started Adminning here a month ago :P) - but nevertheless, the pages have not yet been created, and (most of the time?) these are pages that should be creatured further down the track. This is actually fairly standard practice with Wikis. The reason that they are created like this is that otherwise, once said page is actually created, nothing will link to that page, as it is near impossible on a wiki of most than a dozen pages, to go through and check every page to see if something links to it. (Sometimes, though, it is just a typographical error, and the page actually does exist, but that is something that you can usually work out as time goes on :) Anyways - does that help answer your question? Apologies! My mistake. I blame lack of sleep :P Um - as for the links - ooh, wait, that was me doing that one, wasnt it? Oops. I shall rectify that mistake now :) And in terms of editors - before this Wiki merged with the Skyrim wiki - it was really on myself and a few other editors (Kacj edited here and there, and Ralok was helping fix up the Races pages). Other than that, there wasnt anyone. Now? Well, no, I don't think there is. This site is my new project to hide from RL on, so I edit here a lot :P And we have altogether, about a dozen regular editors I think (The achievements system shows us (well, sort of does, its hard to determine it by number of edits, and certain edits, etc) the number of editors we have). its easy to get about 100 "points" in the Wiki, through incidental edits, but once you get past that, you get into the editors like you or I, who edit frequently. Haha. You are allowed to swear at me, if i do something annoying :) Its the swearing for no reason at all I have a problem with? I forgot to add before, too, the Achievements system has only been here since, well, the start of the month, so its really not that bad :) As for the merging of the wikis, this wiki that you are on now, is techinically the Elder Scrolls wiki. It, along with the Skyrim Wikia, merged together earlier this month. :) And - I woulldnt know about visitors :) I only see the editors, because I go through and regularly check for vandals when I wake up each morning (for instance, people seem to love changing every reference of "High Rock" to ... well, im sure you can work it out). I have "nooo" idea what being obsessed with a wiki is like :P (*hides the page where it says 7,000 edits in 3 months* :P) As for pages - its really up to you - here is a list of things that i have been working on (I recently removed from the list the thing that were actually completed), and/or need work, Um ... or, if you are an "achievement addict", going through Category:Characters and adding [[Characters in Morrowind]], [[Characters in Oblivion]], etc to Character pages is perfectly valid too. ;) Its something that needs doing eventually :) Other than that? Its really up to you - there are, unfortunately, lots of things that need doing. Two Things Edit

1. Images - Depends what they are. if they are easy enough to obtain (i.e. with the Skyrim ones, they can almost always be found one their corresponding page [[1]], then try and rectify them. As for Characters - I would suggest rectifying them if possible, but if you cant, put {{Image}} on the page, signifying that it needs an image. (Thats what I have been doing for any of the Character pages I have been coming across lately - but then again, I have also been adding a lot of images, too, so it *IS* slowly getting worked on, too. (Image Tags, like the {{Redlink}} tag, just lets me (and others too :P) know that this page is one that needs a bit of work. There are more pages out there - but the BASIC idea I had was to go through, work out which pages need references added (from the Lore Books, game notes, etc), which ones have linkage issues - to know which ones need spelling corrections, etc) which ones need images - fairly explanatory, and then which ones just need overall work (mainly rewording/paragraphing) - and then, slowly go from there once there was an idea of how things looked overall. As for two - um - there are other ways - for instance, MSN, IRC, Heck, even Facebook Chat, if you add me - the main drawback is the fact that I live in Australia whereas you live in, well, Im not sure, but its more than likely a very different timezone, since most wikiers are from either Europe or America :) Timeoin•Say G'Day•View my work•See current projects 16:03, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

You need to stop changing the "D" in the word Dragons in the Bleak Falls page to a lower case variant because were refeering to the race not a single animal. For example you would say Dunmer not dunmer due to that being the name of the race. Thanks

Infobox outline Edit

Hi. Would you know if there is a way to modify the (imo) ugly infoboxes' outlines in articles? For example, instead of being coloured, they could be transparent, thus black like the page. Thanks.

Hey. I asked Timeoin, about this very same question, and was wondering maybe you could help me as well...

I am wondering if it is wrong to but a "s" behind the name "The Altmer", so it spells" The Altmer". I'll use the same example as I did in my question to Timeoin.

In example, we dont say "The human are strong", but "The humanS are strong". Does this also work with "The Altmer"? I.E "The Altmers are a intellectual people..." ?

Admin ConfusionEdit

The only reason I left this place was due to misunderstood crap that was said, and being undermined by another user, who - as far as my emails say - hasn't even been active on here in months. He went to the admins, and you Kacj321, and 'told' on me. You all then proceeded to both revoke my Adminship - per Wikias guidelines, and denounce my side of the conflict. Seeing as there was no hope in proving my innocence, nor any hope of restoring my Adminship, I left. The exact reason for putting "the admins are f*ckers to me" was basically my ignorant anger surfacing in a situation where it honeslty was unneccessary. I would love to come back and help out here, but I just don't feel very welcome anymore, not like when I first joined in and was working. Now it feels wrong to be here. So there. ☢ Ѵєяɩτѧѕ ☢

Howdy, now lets go through this again. I am still very much active, helping the community with decisions regarding the future of the Wiki, and guiding new people through the basics of IRC. Though my solo work right now is focusing on maintenance templates, which at this point in time, I am waiting for images. Also, "told", really? You broke Wiki Policy by not only being a badge hunter (which you openly admitted to on the IRC, and when I politely asked if perhaps you'd like to elaborate and explain, you refused) which is a bannable offence, but you also disobeyed Wiki hierarchy by reverting my work which was permitted by Timeoin, who is the Bureaucrat, and ultimately has the final say here. Would you expect me to just let that go? Allow an Administrator, a person who is supposed to lead by example break the most basic of rules? No. Next, "revoke my Adminship - per Wikias guidelines" <-- How does that seem wrong to you? You break the rules, then you get punished, that's a fundamental rule of life. The reason there was "no hope in proving my innocence, nor any hope of restoring my Adminship", is because you had no evidence to refute my claim, I was right and you had nothing that proves otherwise. Like I said further up, when I gave you the opportunity to explain, you refused to and left. You didn't deserve to be an Administrator, there is far more in it than just editing. Its not our fault your side wasn't listened to, to actually listen to a side, that side has to say something. Finally, you realise non-Admins can edit right? You don't need to be an Admin to contribute to the Wiki, have an opinion on a subject, talk to others, or comment on blogs or forums. Regular users can do that too. So the reason you are not returning... is it because you miss the power that being an Admin brought, and was only working here because of said power, or is it the fact that you were wrong and won't admit it. Now on a lighter note, you're obviously not banned, you're welcome here any time, and assuming your work doesn't lower the quality of the Wiki I won't interfere, and you never have to talk to me again.
