RE:Bots
Edit
Hey there! Saw the message you left on Timeoin's talk page and though I could help. Unfortunately, Tim's not very active anymore, so he might not be able to respond to you in a timely manner. At any rate, yes, bots need to be set up on different accounts with the account being identified as a bot account on its userpage. Before the bot can start editing, the operator or an admin needs to contact Wikia to have the account flagged as a bot account, with a link to a formal discussion that the bot was deemed necessary by the community. At present, we currently have three bots which you can query for edits. They are Veetor, DwemerBot, and URL. For more information, read Wikia's policy on bots: here. Hope this helps! --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 12:08, June 23, 2012 (UTC)
RE: Weapons
Edit
I would assume they would have an Appearance since they are in the games, and all the games added and removed weapons and armor. So im guessing yes that they need that. When people start loging into the Wiki's IRC ill ask around get a clear yes or no on that matter. For now just leave those on the articles.
Keep up the good work
Cheatcodechamp (talk) 23:55, June 24, 2012 (UTC)
Hey again, this is what Jimee said about the wepons "the appearances section is not against the rules - it's nice to have but should never be deleted"
hope this helps you more

Re:Dar
Edit
Hey there! I couldn't help but notice a conflict occurring between you and Dar'Rajhin. You said that he was using a bot, correct? I assume you have some sort of proof to support these allegations. This could be a serious issue. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 07:29, June 25, 2012 (UTC)
- In the mean time, please refrain from badgering him for proof of his innocence. This could be viewed as harassment which violates our policies and guidelines. No editor comes here to be belittled. Although it is frustrating to deal with people removing your comments, please try to handle this in a civil manner. Thank you. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 07:33, June 25, 2012 (UTC)
False Accusations
Edit
Please refrain from posting false accusations of inappropriate use on my talk page.
If you did not already know, bots are software applications that run automated tasks over the Internet. Typically, bots perform tasks that are both simple and structurally repetitive, at a much higher rate than would be possible for a human alone.
My edits and uploads are of my own, this is made clear through my use of the summary of my edits.
Thanks for your time; hopefully future notices on your behalf are of good nature. Dar'Rajhin (talk) 07:31, June 25, 2012 (UTC)
- Please do not continue arguing with Dar. The wiki's staff will handle this issue from here. We are determined to reach a solution by means possible. Thank you. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 07:51, June 25, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Balagog
We still need to talk to you on the IRC, we assume when Deyvid asked you to join us there you logged off so dont worry.
When you get there, please look for myself, Deyvid, G0LD3NF1RE, and/or Jimeee. if none of us are on the IRC please wait for one of us before talking about this, we want to handle this without everybody getting involved
Cheatcodechamp (talk) 09:14, June 25, 2012 (UTC)
Re:Men
Edit
That happens if you leave in apostrophes for italics, since the template automatically italicizes everything. It can also happen if you accidentally remove a [ ] bracket on one of the links in the quote. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 02:34, June 26, 2012 (UTC)
Categories
Edit
Dear Balagog, could you please stop adding those categories to pages. Categories like Dawnguard: Weapons and Skyrim: Weapons. Hello
Edit
Hi there Balagog. I'm not really a great fan of this tone, to be honest. To me it seems that you're, once again, subtly trying to accuse him of using AutoWikiBrowser or some other kind of bot software.
If this isn't the case, then excuse me for jumping to conclusions - But I think you'll admit, it doesn't seem great.
For me personally, this is no longer about the accusation itself, but more about the fact that you've disregarded our requests of you to drop this issue. Whether any reply was received from Wikia or not I don't know, but what I do know is that to me, these edits seem fine. Although he does do the same thing to a lot of pages, I think all he has is a browser that can open multiple tabs at a time, and a fast internet connection. The variation in what he does in a timespan to me also reaffirms the fact that he's not using a bot. The fact that he's also asked GramsJ on occasion to do bot-like tasks for him, also backs up his case. If you'd like to discuss this further, feel free to meet me on IRC ASAP, I'm online now.
Thanks, Elchzard (talk) 10:08, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
Vandalism
Edit
Hey, Balagog! Looks like you've been doing a great job lately updating pages and fighting vandalism, but remember, when you revert an edit that is vandalism to report it on our notice board or leave a message on an admin's talk page. This ensure that we can issue a speedy block. Otherwise, the vandal gets away unnoticed. Thanks again! :D --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 11:53, July 8, 2012 (UTC)
Shops
Edit
Hi. It's best to leave the shops categories for now. I'm still in the process of re-doing the whole thing, and cats like this may very well be redundant as Merchants and it's subs are what is more important.
Jimeee (talk) 11:04, July 9, 2012 (UTC)
- No, don't add shops as its largely redundant when all the merchants categories are much more useful.
Re:Oblivion: Dark Brotherhood Quests
Edit
Apologies for reverting construction edits, such as the italics. They are difficult to see on the green background, I must admit. Either way. I reverted the edit because I didn't think it was necessary to make that change. I prefer for categories to be formatted this way as a matter of personal taste. Simply, I think saying "The following is..." is slightly redundant. It's like saying, "In this article, we will talk about...". It's already implied. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 10:36, July 10, 2012 (UTC)
Apostrophe edits
Edit
Hey Balagog,
I have noticed that you have been making alot of edits that all you have adding are Apostrophe's and other small things like that. While im glad you are fixing the grammar of the articles, im going to have to ask that you add more then that when you edit. While i trust its in good faith, doing nothing but following editors and adding Apostrophe's looks alot like badge hunting and that doesn't look good.
Again, i trust you arnt meaning to do that, but please add more to an article when you edit, in the long run it will help out the wiki more if contribute more
Thanks
Cheatcodechamp (talk) 03:40, July 11, 2012 (UTC)
Like i said, i understand not every edit a person makes can be big, just try to do more then the italicizing of the game names from now on.
And as to following editors, we have had a few people in IRC that have said they believe you are following there edits. I myself have seen you edit multiple articles i had just edited. Im assuming that its more of you looking at the articles and seeing if there is anything you can add then you stalking anybody, so i apologize for how i said that above.
Cheatcodechamp (talk) 03:55, July 11, 2012 (UTC)
We would prefer larger edits, and changing Hyperlinks is larger change then Italicizing.
If you want to help with articles, pick a category you can help with and make it a goal to fix it, there are a few category's we have that need to be worked on that you could help with. I know i few that are always in need of help.

RE: Image
Edit
They need there own template, ill Talk with our template people and see what it would take to get those made.
Also, as a FYI. Unlike the other categorys that auto-update, this list only does it once a day. so if you do alot of updates you will still see those images there for awhile. you can also leave images that are not being used alone, most of them will be deleted in the next few weeks.
and images that are only being used on User walls get the template {User-image}}
I think thats everyhting i forgot to tell you

Requested Images Renamed
Edit
Hey, just to let you know, i have renamed all the images you requested to be done so on Cheatcodechamp's Talk Page. Rather than doing this, it be even better to apply the {move} template to the image in question. Also be sure to mark images that are taken with a camera pointed at the screen for deletion since these images are against wiki guidelines.
Keep up the good work on the image templates. Dar'Rajhin (talk) 12:11, July 14, 2012 (UTC)

Nomination
Edit
I rather think you should expect a patroller status soon- you have been nominated on The Elder Scrolls Wiki:Patrollers, and you are receiving lots of support!
Congrats on becoming ninth on the Wiki, after so long in tenth place! Just thought I should point out that the Conjuration Training page requires journal entries. I would have done this myself when I corrected it's template usage, but I have not done the quest myself, so for the sake of correctness, I thought someone with expertise should do this.

Yes, it's true the News Team is supposed to write the news blogs, but look around... when was the last time you saw a news blog posted from the News Team, which consists of one person? Sixteen votes in the positive, and you are a patroller. The third one I have personally had the honor of "knighting" into the "order". Now, you don't have to look at it like a ball-and-chain, but there are certain things that are expected of you, if you wish to be listed along with the other active patrollers. You can read more about a patrollers duties at TES:PATROL#Duties and privileges. By default, all patrollers are given custodian tools. Armor categories
Edit
*high fives!* Awesome job with the armor categories. You've been a huge help! Keep up the good work. For now, I'm turning in. The IRC is still broken, otherwise I would've approached you there. I have a question concerning the categories we've just made. Names. Boots and greaves seem too specific for our purposes here. I was thinking of changing them to "footwear" and "legwear". Thoughts? Additionaly, Morrowind armor will be somewhat troublesome since gauntlets and pauldrons come in singles, not pairs like the boots do. So, should we have separate categories for "Left Gloves" and "Right Gloves" and "Left Pauldrons" and "Right Pauldrons"? Or, should we lump them all together? Suppose the former is a bit much, ya? One last quibble. Gloves? Gauntlets? Webseter tells me "Handwear" is a word. Should we go for that? Headgear, Handwear, Footwear, Legwear, Pauldrons, Cuirasses, and Shields? --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 09:42, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
- It's not working properly. Something must have crashed server-side. Go there. No one can get operator rights. There are no bots and almost no one is in there, because of it. Jay and I were there a few seconds ago. We were the only ones. I tried using some simple commands and the chat client told me that NickServ was down. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 09:57, August 17, 2012 (UTC)
- If the intention is to order all sorts of footwear (armor and clothing) into once category - is then this different from the original intention mentioned on the CT that was for armor only. The question that should be asked is how much actual use to the readers is lumping all possible types of handwear into one catagory. I can see the argument for Skyrim: Gauntlets for people who wear armor to be look for gear, what use is mixing clothing items in there?
- It was mentioned that this form of categorisation cant be "too specific", so to make it specific it would be more along the lines of Skyrim: Gauntlets for armor and Skyim: Gloves (or whatever) for clothing. These would then go into the larger category of Skyrim: Handwear.

I wonder why The Elder Scrolls isn't a book series. A fourth of the time it does live of of Name-Plaigerism, and..... ....wierdness.
Examples: "Wilderland" (a place in Middle-Earth), "King Edward", the idea of planets, the idea of steam-powered robots (Golems, I guess), the "Blackwood (Sherlock Holmes villain) Company", etc.
Well, I guess when your'e playing the games you don't have to notice all that stuff. Sometimes things can be irrelovent. HiddenVale (talk) 00:53, August 19, 2012 (UTC)

Hey Balagog.
First, Congrats on being nominated for member of the month, its about time that happened.

Edit Revert
Edit
Hey Balagog gro-Nolob. I noticed you reverted my edit here and I was just stopping by to ask what exactly was the problem with it? I'm not disputing your revert. As a Patroller after all, I can trust you know what your doing. But I'd just like to know what was wrong (as to not do that in the future). Yet, if I could make the argument, not only did I seem to brighten up and shorten the image in the infobox, but I used a previously unused file, and ensured I did not make more in my actions. Again, just to be sure for next time :P Thanks in advance. Yours Always; --The Old World Relics (talk/blog/contributions) 09:18, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
- Hey thanks for the speedy reply. I'll keep that in-mind for my future edits. And monthly? Jesus, that allows them a hell of a time to accumulate. Personally I'd do weekly, and only after they all have been checked because some of them are actually good images IMO. But that's just me. Anyways, thanks again for the speedy reply and happy editing! --The Old World Relics (talk/blog/contributions) 09:34, January 2, 2013 (UTC)
Appearances
Edit
Think about it for a second - when has the same quest ever appeared in a game twice? Never. It's totally redundant and serves no purpose.
It makes sense to use appearances for weapons or characters, but not for quests.
Jimeee (talk) 09:49, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
- We were all told a lot of stuff that didn't make sense when we started. Remember overarching categories? Yes, some templates may include it, but I'll fix those eventually.
- I remove appearances from quest pages on sight as it makes no sense to have them there.
Morrowind category issues
Edit
I saw your message on Jimeee's talk page, and we are well aware of the issues revolving around the Morrowind: part being removed from categories upon saving the page. It's already been addressed with Wikia and they are having their engineers work on a fix for it. Obviously it hasn't been fixed yet. The categories for Morrowind will only display correctly if the page is saved while using the MonoBook skin. So, it's a temporary solution for adding back in the categories that get stripped. —TombRaiser SPEAK! 03:06, February 18, 2013 (UTC)
