Daggerfall Edit

Hey, its been awhile.

I just got daggerfall and i wanted to know if there is anything we are in need of (besides almost everything) that i could provide. Im planing on getting images on everything, but it always helps to know what we on wanting to focus on. im taking notes on alot of things as well, like your answers to the questions in the intro of the game having an effect on your starting equipment.

I know i have really slacked on helping this wikia, im hoping me getting Daggerfall will make up for me borderline going inactive.

Happy editing.-Cheatcodechamp (talk) 07:08, May 8, 2013 (UTC)

If you want to do some stuff for Daggerfall, that's cool. I don't have a list of things that need to get done, other than what is listed in the Maintenance category. —TombRaiser SPEAK! 01:19, May 9, 2013 (UTC)
Ill see what i can do, if you can think of any jobs that extra help let me know. Also, i dont think i ever thanked you for putting up with me when i first started, i doubt i would be editing without help, and i think i bugged you everyday for a month. So thanks, and happy editing :)-Cheatcodechamp (talk) 05:37, May 9, 2013 (UTC)

Black Bow Bandits Edit

Hi Tomb,

Should I merge Black Bow Bandits and Black Bows? They look similar, but I'm not sure if the first refers to a specific type of Black Bows or not. Kroq-gar78 (talk) 23:17, May 8, 2013 (UTC)

Both pages are pretty much saying the same thing. The group of bandits are called the Black Bow Bandits, so that should be the page that stays. There is also the physical bow that's called Black Bow. —TombRaiser SPEAK! 01:05, May 9, 2013 (UTC)

Asking a Question Edit

Uhm, hi. I added some detailed information on where Lieutenant Salvarus is located on the Karliah, but I noticed that it was removed for "not being relevant".

I'm new to the site, so I don't know that much about leaving messages and stuff. I left a question on Erik the Mad's page, as he was the one who removed it, asking why he removed it when I thought it was perfectly relevant. I told him I was just confused, and I tried to be as polite as possible (also informed him I'm new to the Wiki and don't know much about how talk pages work), and not only did he not answer my question and edit out my question, but the edit description was "Piss off."

Okay. I was rather upset and hurt by this, because all I wanted was an answer. I literally joined this website 3 days ago and I don't know all of the requirments for relevance and such. Can you perhaps tell me why? All I did was write about how he is located in and around a planning room on the ship. I don't know if I'm being a nuisance or not, but I just don't know how else to ask people around here! >:\ I tried being polite and friendly, but I guess I screwed up somehow and posted on the wrong page or in the wrong way? I don't know! I just felt like Erik was unecessarily rude without explanation and I still don't understand why what I wrote wasn't relevant enough.

Alright, sorry I just kinda went on and on there. That's all...

TheInfamousLyingHarlot (talk) 01:44, May 9, 2013 (UTC)

Okay, thank you for helping me out! (:

I was worried that I was doing something horribly wrong. You were certainly a lot ncier, and thank you for putting the info back up. I noticed you said it wasn't worded perfectly, though. Is there any way I can fix that?

Hey, any chance you are online now? Jimeee (talk) 23:18, May 9, 2013 (UTC)

Moar bot stuff Edit

Hi Tomb,

I just realized I forgot to ask you to do some more bot edits right when you got off IRC :P

Anyway, can you replace all mentions of {{Bestiary}} with {{BestiaryOblivion}}? Thanks ;) Kroq-gar78 (talk) 04:28, May 11, 2013 (UTC)

Done! :D —TombRaiser SPEAK! 00:07, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

MW shields Edit

I noticed that Shields (Morrowind) is near the top of the wanted pages list. I was thinking about putting an article together, but I noticed that there doesn't seem to be similar articles for items such as helmets, boots, etc. I was wondering if really should be an article, or just redirect to Armor (Morrowind)#Shield instead?
──┤ Eganogard talk ├── 02:22, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

I'll get to work on a shield article next week then, and format it as per the Skyrim article. It will take some time, but it's very easy to do. :) I'd appreciate it if you could either upload a pic, or select an existing image to use.
──┤ Eganogard talk ├── 05:01, May 12, 2013 (UTC)
I've finished the Shields (Morrowind) article, and included everything from the expansion packs. The article should be complete, and I tried to format it as per the Skyrim article as much as possible. I'm rather fond of the little armor class comparison I came up with while writing it. BTW, I copied the {{BM}} template to make a similar {{TR}} template for Tribunal while working on the article. On Armor (Morrowind) I added a {{Main}} link under the Shield header, and was wondering if the partial list on that page should be deleted?
I also went a little nuts and spent way too much time on completing the Scrolls (Morrowind) article, that was the largest edit I've ever done on Wikia! It now has all the scrolls (including the expansion packs), all their effects (there were none listed before the edit), all the inscriptions, and some basic information. :) There are still a lot of red links to scroll articles that need to be created, but I'll get around to 'em eventually. ;) ──┤ Eganogard talk ├── 01:15, May 18, 2013 (UTC)
YOU'RE AWESOME EGANOGARD
Also, thanks for making the TR template :D I was always wondering why I couldn't find it XD Kroq-gar78 (talk) 05:55, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

MW character creation template Edit

Hi, I'm working on a MW character article and using the creation template. I've noticed that there are a few things missing, I'm not sure it was intentional or not, so I thought that I should bring it up.

In the infobox section, the |health =, |fatigue =, |magicka =, and |quests = data fields are missing.

Under the inventory header, "Armor" should probably be added. (It's not there already because the character that was used to make the template doesn't wear any.)

I'm not sure how detailed we'd like the inventory section to be, or if all these things should be considered "Other", but possible additions to consider include: "Books", "Ingredients", "Potions", "Scrolls", "Tools and apparatus" (or possibly individual tools instead, such as "Alchemy apparatus" / "Repair tools" / "Security tools"). In the past I've used all of those if the character had three or more corresponding items; if there were one or two I couldn't justify it to myself and included them in "Other" instead. But I've mainly reserved "Other" for keys, soul gems, gold, and the "miscellaneous items" that don't have a specific tab in the Object Window of the Construction Set. It might be a little excessive, or just overly detailed, so really it's just the Armor I'd consider important to add to the template. ;)
──┤ Eganogard talk ├── 03:37, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for adding those, and for your feedback. :) About collapsible tables -- I'm slowly getting used to customizing standard tables, but I've been cutting/pasting the same unmodified code for collapsible tables. Every time I've tried to modify a collapsible table, even to do simple things such as having two columns, I run into problems. Namely, the link to show/hide always seems to disappear on me. Just yesterday I was fooling around with trying to get the 'articles created' table on my user page to have two columns, with spells on the right and everything else on the left. If you're bored someday I'd appreciate if you could edit my user page so I could see what I've been doing wrong. ;) ──┤ Eganogard talk ├── 05:04, May 12, 2013 (UTC)
Forgot to mention that Spell merchant / Trainer / Transport (or Transportation) can also be added under the Services header. ──┤ Eganogard talk ├── 05:22, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

Seven Thousand Steps Edit

Hi Tomb,

Just want to make sure before I go through with it, can I move all of the Seven Thousand Steps-related information away from the High Hrothgar article into the Throat of the World (Location) article? I just feel it's more a part of the mountain (literally :P) than part of the monastery to which it leads. You think that's okay? Kroq-gar78 (talk) 04:44, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

... way overthinking it :P Basically, the Steps end at Hrothgar, but only the ending is at Hrothgar. The rest of the steps are a part of the mountain itself, not Hrothgar. So, I was thinking that since the majority of the Steps are NOT at the top, it should be in the mountain. Kroq-gar78 (talk) 05:33, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

Color forum thread Edit

Hi Tomb,

I feel like moving this thread away from the CT since it's not quite what that forum is aiming for. Does it fit "General Discussion" or "Off Topic" better? Kroq-gar78 (talk) 18:13, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

RE: Affiliation Edit

First of all, thanks for the reply. Secondly, thanks for clearing that up with me. I did not notice that, and to be honest, I find that pretty neat how that's set up. Again, thanks for your help; I really appreciate it. {{SUBST:User:Shrev64/Sig|06:02,5/13/2013}}

Merging/SplittingEdit

Hey how's it going? I feel the museum information on Pieces of the Past should be moved to Silus Vesuius's House. I think that information belongs more to the museum section of the house article rather than it being quest related information. I didn't want to move a large section without approval. And a side note, is there any real reason this page exists? It just doesn't seem to work somehow. Thanks. Goddy5890 (talk) 13:05, May 14, 2013 (UTC)

I support the moving of the information from the Pieces of the Past article to the Silus Vesuius's House article. Also, I don't see the point of Lumber Mill (Riverwood) either. If anything, I think it should be merged with Riverwood (Skyrim).
Goddy, I'd still wait for Tomb's approval for going through with this though ;) Kroq-gar78 (talk) 22:37, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, moving the museum information from Pieces of the Past to Silus's House page is a good idea, you can go ahead and make the changes. The Lumber Mill (Riverwood) page really shouldn't exist as it's part of the town Riverwood, so yes, that info should fit somewhere on the Riverwood (Skyrim) page. —TombRaiser SPEAK! 23:33, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
Will do. Thanks. Goddy5890 (talk) 13:43, May 15, 2013 (UTC)

Re: The imageEdit

Thank you so much for the response, and yes I love Skyrim and have used this Wiki so much that I've decided I belong! I'm a bit shaken that I messed up, but how else do yah learn? Anyways, nice to meet you, thanks again. :D —This unsigned comment is by Ladyassasin (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Another MergeEdit

Hello again. I found another possible merge/delete for two articles. They are the Fairy Circle page and the Toadstool Ring page. I fixed the loaction on the fairy circle article, but they are talking about the same location. Thanks. Goddy5890 (talk) 07:06, May 16, 2013 (UTC)

Alright, I merged the Toadstool Ring page with Fairy Circle, since that seems to be what it's really called. (ie: Toadstool Ring redirected me to the Fairy Circle wikipedia page). —TombRaiser SPEAK! 18:02, May 16, 2013 (UTC)

Opinion about styleEdit

Hi Tomb.. when I write walkthroughs I usually use subheadres, I didn't on the Finding the Thieves Guild, now I noticed that LeDaea has done an edit and added hashtags to separate 3 ways to join the guild but in my eyes there should be subheaders instead or something like it. What's the opinion in this sort of organization? On the Walkthrough headers are only mentioned to use. EbonySkyrim (talk) 10:04, May 16, 2013 (UTC)

Fair enough, it is a bit short for subheaders. :) I'm just allergic to "lists" in such matters.. I removed the background to get a short lead though as it looks empty otherwise. Talking about that.. are you going to remove the intro "a quest in <game>" from the rest of the template too? Shivering Isles, Knights of the nine, Dragonborn and so on? EbonySkyrim (talk) 18:37, May 16, 2013 (UTC)

Moving article to forums Edit

Hi Tomb,

How in the world do you move an article to the forums? I tried moving it into different namespaces, but it didn't show up correctly. I think I've seen you do it before, so how have you done it? I eventually said "forget it" and deleted the article though. Kroq-gar78 (talk) 04:44, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

Re Auto-lead removalEdit

Hi Tomb, ok.. I'll have a look through the Shivering Isles ingredients and also have a look at the quests from SI and Knights. :) EbonySkyrim (talk) 19:24, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

There are so many SI ingredient articles with hardly anything on them, I'll try and remember to add something when I'm at the Isles as I do go back there from time to time. Oh and before I forget, I noticed when I added info to Oblivion ingredients I could remove effects in the infobox if there was only one effect (i think it was) but when I do this on Shivering Isles there are brackets still in the infobox. EbonySkyrim (talk) 20:18, May 17, 2013 (UTC)
I know, :) I have looked at all the ingredient pages for SI, I think. I looked at the list page. But almost every day I find articles I didn't know excisted and I also find pages that needs info on it so I'm adding them to my growing list I follow.. I'll ask Kroq about the template. EbonySkyrim (talk) 20:40, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

Blocked edit Edit

Greetings - We were trying to clean up the Elder Scrolls Online page (mainly changing numerals to script per TESWiki style guidelines) and our edit was auto-blocked as harmful. This has happened before and was corrected. Could you please look into it?

ThanksDarthOrc (talk) 05:11, May 18, 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for looking into this so quickly. Even though you couldn't fix it you did give us good advice on how to work around the bug, so thanks again. DarthOrc (talk) 05:59, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

IRC? Edit

Hey Tomb,

Do you think you can get on IRC? Kroq-gar78 (talk) 18:56, May 18, 2013 (UTC)

IRC on the homepageEdit

Hi Tomb,

I've done something small about IRC here, but the boxes will be at the bottom for now since it's not the real main page, so don't worry about it. How should we change the IRC box? Kroq-gar78 (talk) 06:02, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

Hey guys! Small note, IRC stands for "Internet Relay Chat" so you might want to tweak the sentence: "Did you know the Elder Scrolls Wiki has an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) chat channel?" :p Jimeee (talk) 10:02, May 19, 2013 (UTC)
Oh yeah, huh. :P
Anyhoo, after removing the "chat" part, you might want to add something like this below the "Chat Now" link.
"If you prefer to use an IRC client, click here for details on setting it up."
Let's have the IRC box above the "Helping Out" section. It's not going to take up too much space, so the section below won't be pushed too far below. I'll be on IRC a little bit later in the day. —TombRaiser SPEAK! 18:12, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

Redguard TemplateEdit

Hey Tomb, I was wondering if you could create a template for books within Redguard. If you do, I will add the template to all the articles in need of it, and will create the remaining pages needed for the rest of the books within the game. Thanks.

AutoBlood (talk) 21:36, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

Thank you for doing that. I will get to work on it.

AutoBlood (talk) 22:28, May 19, 2013 (UTC)

Ring of Khajiit & Belt of Wisdom Edit

Hi, I've stumbled across a couple of oddities that I'm not sure how to handle in terms of naming conventions and/or disambigs:

  1. There's a ring artifact that is known as "Ring of Khajiit" in Arena and Morrowind, and "Ring of Khajitti" in Daggerfall and Oblivion. Currently, "Ring of Khajiit" redirects to the Oblivion article, which is named "Ring of Khajitti" (no game name in brackets). I opened the redirect for editing and saw that there was actually disambig-ish information on that page before a redirect was added at the top of the article. I'm not sure what's going on in this case, but something needs to be done. (I can add the Morrowind info once this is sorted out.)
  2. In Morrowind, there are two items named "Belt of Iron Will". One of them is what would be expected, a belt that raises Willpower. The second item was a mistake by developers. It is also named "Belt of Iron Will", but it's ID code is "belt of feet of notorgo" and is completely unrelated (other than both items being belts). How should this be approached? If two articles, what naming conventions should be used? If one article, how would I format it to include both items? ──┤ Eganogard talk ├── 11:52, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

Tribunal & Bloodmoon templates Edit

Hi, whenever you can find the time could you please make a Tribunal ingredients infobox template? Maybe one for Bloodmoon scrolls as well, but there are only four so I'm not sure if it is worthwhile. Thanks! :)
