Um ... I notice that on a lot of the pages you have been editing, you have been underlining words. Just leaving a polite message to ask - why? Were you aware that this was happening? (Sometimes the visual editor does wierd things!) If not - yeah, um, why? It makes the pages look a bit ugly with random underlined sentences. Other than that - welcome to the wiki! And thanks for helping add information about Skyrim :) Timeoin•Say G'Day•View my work 01:44, February 25, 2012 (UTC)
Underlining? I hadn't noticed! I'll go back and check them again, I haven't seen them showing up on my computer. Do you mean the links or just random words? I've been pasting some bits and it did show the links as being underlined but I thought that was just because I had visited that page before... Heh. Xui (talk) 01:49, February 25, 2012 (UTC)
- I thought that this was the case :) (I saw it because on the IRC, there's a channel that shoes recent changes, and in the recent changes, it shows up as " random words " instead of like this . As for an example: this one here. I was pretty sure thta you weren't aware that it was happening - because, well, the edits you were making were actually helpful, so yeah - just thought I'd let you know that it was happening :) Anyways - have fun on the wiki - and if theres anything I can do to help - let me know :) (Also, on a side note: are you by any chance using Google Chrome? I've found that its been a little bit weird like that lately) Timeoin•Say G'Day•View my work 01:54, February 25, 2012 (UTC)
It does look really bad, I honestly thought it was just showing me something like old links used to XP I'm actually using Internet Explorer, though I haven't noticed anything similar on other websites. I am very unfamilier with the style of coding on this one, though. ^-^; Thanks very much! I'll fix them if that's okay, I do wish it wouldn't flood the Recent Changes though, haha. I kind of hoped using "minor edit" would fix that. Xui (talk) 02:01, February 25, 2012 (UTC)
With regards to the Recent Changes: that's fine : go right ahead :) people can find their edits through other means if they want to :) As for the formatting things - that is perfectly okay, too. You're new to it, and its my job here to help out as much as I can - so, if theres anything that I *CAN* do, please let me know :) Mind you, I muself learnt something just now as well :) (that being that the underlined text ignored the script that tells it to ingore wiki formatting and show exactly what i type. Ah well. As for the differences between sites - its a unique problem that we get sometimes on wikia. Its caused by the fact that the visual editor (what you probably use when typing) tries to show what edits will look like when published, as opposed to using the straight wiki language (for example, it means that you can click bold instead of having to do '''this''' to make it bold the text) but, despite its usefulness, sometimes it picks up some strange bugs in the process. Anyways - yeah, if theres anything I can do to help - let me know on my talk page (click the "say G'Day" button just after my name) :) Timeoin•Say G'Day•View my work 02:26, February 25, 2012 (UTC)
Apologies for that - I was at work and then sleeping :P Anyways - to answer your question - the best place to ask for small things like that would probably be the IRC channel. Theres usually at least one or two administrators on there, and a raft of other editors there too, who can help out with these matters. With regards to The Dowry though - I have made it redirect to where it should, now. This wont show up immediately, but when the server next caches, it should show up when you search for this. (Sometime tomorrow it should fix itself) Timeoin•Say G'Day•View my work 00:06, February 26, 2012 (UTC)
