Visage of Mzund is a unique Dwarven helmet that ties with Konahrik for the highest base armor rating for any helm available.

Acquisition

Fahlbtharz - Found on a table, next to the chest in the final chamber of the Dwemer ruin.

Enchantment

The helmet bears a unique enchantment which grants the following bonuses:

The Breath of Nchuak is a lesser power that is added when the mask is worn. When activated, a scorching blast of steam is released from the helmet which deals 15 points of damage per second, at the cost of stamina upkeep.

Smithing

It can be upgraded with a Dwarven metal ingot at a workbench and also benefits from the Dwarven Smithing perk, which doubles the improvement.

Trivia

  • The Breath of Nchuak is similar to the Dwarven Centurion's steam attack.
  • The Dwemer Ruin of Mzund is not featured in any other game, and is only mentioned briefly in Katria's Journal. It is where Katria found a map of the Aetherium mining and storage sites in Skyrim. The journal is located in Arkngthamz and found during the quest Lost to the Ages.
