BackgroundEdit

The quest, What Lies Beneath / Frostflow Abyss is obtained from entering the Frostflow Lighthouse for the first time. There has been grisly murders at the lighthouse, and the player is given the task of finding the source of the murders. Upon reading the journals found in Frostflow Lighthouse the player will find clues regarding what has happened and how to proceed.Sudi's Journal gives a clue to finding the key for the cellar which is located in the burial urn on the mantle above the fireplace.

Detailed walkthroughEdit

Begin the primary questEdit

Obtain the key from the burial urn on the mantle. Unlock the cellar door, and proceed down the stairs, taking care to avoid the bear trap on the steps. Kill any Chaurus in the cellar, and proceed to the opening in the far wall.

Find ManiEdit

Go through the opening, and you will find that you are entering the Frostflow Abyss. Be careful, though, because you'll most likely be greeted by Falmer and chaurus when you reach the first "room." Once you dispatch with your foes, you will have the opportunity to look around, and will find Mani's remains.

Find SudiEdit

Locate the next passageway, and proceed deeper into the abyss. You will enter another opening that has Falmer dwellings and fenced-in area where you can find Sudi, along with the Scrawled page and Bloodstained note. Again, you will need to defend yourself against the Falmer and chaurus.

Find HabdEdit

Keep exploring and killing chaurus as necessary, and you will come to a hole in the floor where the only way to proceed is to jump down onto a ledge. Quickly do so, and kill the chaurus that are in the area. Harvest any Chaurus Eggs you would like, and continue to explore, killing more chaurus along the way. You will come to a large cavern with stalactites, a lot of chaurus, and a Chaurus Reaper. You will need to kill the Chaurus Reaper before you can exit the abyss. When you do kill the Chaurus Reaper, it will drop an item called Habd's Remains, which is necessary for the completion of the secondary quest, as well as Habd's Lighthouse Key.

Begin the secondary questEdit

Once you have Habd's Remains, continue in the direction you were going, and you will find a trail that leads up along a ledge that will take you back to the opening of the abyss. You will find a Falmer chest on the pathway. When you come to what looks like the end of the path, jump down. You will end up in the first room you entered when you started exploring the abyss.

From here you can return to the lighthouse cellar, go upstairs (watch out for the bear trap, as it is now reset), and use your lockpick skills to open the other wooden door, which leads to the roof. On the roof of the lighthouse, climb the ladder that leads to the pot of fire, and activate it. The activation of the lighthouse torch will remove Habd's Remains from your inventory and provide you with the active effect: Sailor's Repose (Healing spells cure 10% more). Use your lockpick skills or Habd's Lighthouse Key to open the master-level chest that is on the roof of the lighthouse, take what you would like, and the quests are complete.
