Witbane is a disease that can be contracted while fighting creatures such as Dogs, Zombies, or Sabre Cats; It can also sometimes be gained through constant damage from Traps.

This disease can cripple a Mage and give other NPC's the chance to move up and attack while the Mage is waiting for his Magicka to regenerate. If your play style is that of a mage it is best to have this disease cured as quickly as possible.
