XnGine is an in-house gaming engine designed by Bethesda Softworks. The XnGine was used for the creation of The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, An Elder Scrolls Legend: Battlespire, and The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard. Originally, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind was supposed to utilize this engine, but the development team decided to utilize a superior engine of the time, which was NetImmerse, the predecessor to today's GameByro.[1]
